Housekeeping
• Please mute your mics and switch off your

• Please raise your hand to ask a question. Best
to leave questions to the end.
• Do not speak over others.
• One-hour session.
• The session will be recorded.
Content

Admission requirements
• Submission of at least one assignment before
examination admission is conducted.
Mark composition
• Total of paper is 100.
• The exam contributes to 55% of final mark.
• Pass mark: 50% (Total, i.e. final mark)
• Subminimum: 40%
Exam structure
• MCQ, matching and written components
• Exam is randomized (each assessment contains a unique set of questions)
• The exam is timed: 2 hours in total
• Timing recommendation:
o Save around 40 minutes (at most) for your written component
o This leaves you with ~2.5 minutes per MCQ
• Only one attempt is allowed during the 2 hours session.
• NB: If you experience technical problems, sign out and sign back in again to
resume.
• NB: The exam is a closed book exam. You must not consult any source of
information to help you answer the exam questions.
• Moodle proctoring will be used.
• Exam is NOT backwards enabled.

o MCQs based on LU 6-8.
o Written based on LU 1-8.
o All content, including readings (i.e., e-Reserves
and OERs )

Examination Tips
• General tips:
o Read the questions carefully. (Questions are randomized).
o Make sure to choose the correct location for the question. Must be based in
your region.
o Answer according to the mark allocation.
o Answer what is asked. Your answer must speak to your specific location – No
marks for general answers.
o A good understanding of the content will take you far → If you do not know
what the correct answer is, look for the answers that are incorrect.
o Do not leave out sections.
o Remember that exam is not backwards enabled.
o Do not plagiarize, copy or contract cheat. References are not required IN the
exam.
o Manage your time well.

Exam Platform
• The exam will take place on the myExams site.
• To access the exam site, follow this link

• A login screen will be displayed.
• Login using your student number and myUnisa password.
• It is recommended that you use Google Chrome as a
browser.
• Do not try to access the exam site via the Moodle App.

Moodle Proctoring
• The Moodle Proctoring tool is for MCQ (Quiz) assessments only and
captures your picture via webcam to identify who is attempting the MCQ
(Quiz) assessment.
• It will capture your picture and screenshot automatically (30sec).
• For the Webcam proctoring tool to function, you need to provide camera
& screen sharing permissions.
• Once you have provided the permissions, you will see your picture and will
then be able to complete the Quiz assessment. If you do not give
permission, you will not be able to complete the Quiz assessment.
• NB. Make sure you have updated your profile on Moodle for proctoring.
Steps to update profile photo
• You are now required to have an updated profile photo
on myModules to confirm your identity. The profile
photos may be used to confirm your identity against
proctoring tool images to ensure academic integrity.
Follow the steps below to upload a photo as your
profile picture on myModules:
• 1. Login to [Link]
• 2. Click on the MyModules button in the header.

click on the
Edit profile
link in the
user details
section.

drop a photo in the area
provided.
• Note: Use a photo where
your face is centred and
clearly visible and note
the file types supported.

and then click the
Upload this file
button.

Load shedding
• Load shedding - the schedule for load shedding is published ahead of time, so
make sure you are aware of the times in your area.
• Arrange travelling to an area where there is no load shedding, otherwise you can
apply for aegrotat exam.
• How to apply for aegrotat?
o Log in on MyUnisa
o Go to myAdmin
o Go to your Exam Timetable
o Click “Apply for aegrotat exam”
Motivation should be included (include evidence as well)
Load shedding or technical issues
• Alternatively, students can also apply for aegrotats using the email:

• Applications must be submitted within 10 days after the examination date.

• Do not wait until the exam session is over before you report an issue.
• Report issues as they arise and take screenshots as evidence.
Clean your browser
• Desktop/Laptop:
1. If you are using Internet Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox you can quickly clear
cache with a keyboard shortcut. For Windows, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete simultaneously on the
keyboard to open the appropriate window. Use Command + Shift + Delete for Mac.
2. Select “Cookies and other site data” or “Cookies and website data”, as well as “Cached images
and Files” or “Temporary Internet Files”.
3. Click on the appropriate button. Either Clear Data/Clear Browsing Data in Chrome, “Clear Now” in
Firefox or Delete in Internet Explorer.
4. IMPORTANT: Be sure to close/quit the browser and restart after clearing the cache and cookies.
– Then, close ALL your internet browser windows and re-open your Internet browser and go to the myUnisa
homepage again.

2. Tap the Storage heading to open its settings page.
