“Embracing the Future: Utilizing the Power of Artificial
Intelligence to Enhance Patient Care” or
“Recognizing the Impact of AI Integration in Nursing
Proposed Research Topic/Title Practice: Overcoming Challenges and Embracing
Opportunities” or
“Quantitative Assessment of AI Implementation in
Nursing Practice: Evaluating Patient Outcomes”
According to Statista, the artificial intelligence (AI)
healthcare market, which is valued at $11 billion in 2021, is
projected to be worth $187 billion in 2030. That massive
Trends increase means we will likely continue to see considerable
changes in how medical providers, hospitals,
pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and others
in the healthcare industry operate.
Pailaha (2023) argues that while AI has the capacity to
enhance the quality of nursing care, it also carries
unexpected repercussions that might potentially harm and
undermine the nursing profession and its primary role in
healthcare.
Watsons (2024) also claims that AI may have promising
advancements on our health care system, however it
sparked debates on traditional nursing ethics like patient
data handling and giving a holistic care for patients which
is he core value of nursing.
Issues
Specific issue that the proposed study would like to
be given emphasis:
Nursing is founded on the principles of empathy,
compassion, and the capacity to establish significant
bonds with patients. The implementation of AI-driven
interactions may result in the absence of human
involvement, which could have an impact on patient
satisfaction and overall welfare.
The purpose of the study is to inquire the opinions of
Objectives / Statement of the nursing students about utilizing the full potential of Artificial
Problem Intelligence in providing a better patient care. In particular,
it aims to provide answers to the following questions:
1. What is the impact of AI on the conventional patient
care provided by nurses?

2. What potential effects might arise from incorporating AI
education in schools and how could it impact the
development of performance skills in student nurses?
3. Would student nurses be open to incorporating AI as a
helpful tool to alleviate their workload in the future?
An important development in healthcare technology is the
use of artificial intelligence (AI) to nursing practice, which
has the potential to significantly improve patient care and
operational effectiveness. This research is important for
various reasons:
Improving Patient Care: AI can lead to more accurate
diagnoses, more individualized treatment programs, and
better patient outcomes by streamlining and optimizing the
delivery of healthcare.
Managing Nursing Workforce Issues: By streamlining
processes, cutting down on paperwork, and freeing up
nurses to concentrate more on providing direct patient
care, artificial intelligence (AI) can help mitigate the
growing scarcity of nurses in the field.
Overcoming Technological Resistance: By
comprehending and addressing the issues and worries
related to nurses' adoption of AI, it is possible to lessen
Contribution / Significance of
resistance and foster acceptance, which facilitates easier
the Study
integration and the fulfillment of AI's advantages.
Informing Practice and Policy: The study's conclusions
can help healthcare organizations create plans for the
effective application of AI while maintaining compliance
with patient safety, professional standards of nursing
practice, and ethical norms.
Contributing to Future Research and Innovation: This
study builds on the subject of artificial intelligence in
healthcare by examining both potential and obstacles. It
also lays the groundwork for future research and
innovations that will optimize the use of AI in nursing
practice.
In summary, the goal of this research is to clarify the
challenges associated with integrating AI into nursing and
provide knowledge that may spur improvements in nursing
education, healthcare delivery, and policy formation.

Method Section
Participants: Participants will include student nurses
currently studying Bachelor Science of Nursing, A
convenience sampling method will be used to recruit
participants.
Instrumentation: A structured questionnaire will be
developed based on a review of literature and expert
consultation. The questionnaire will consist of closed-
ended questions designed to gather quantitative data on
student nurses' perceptions of AI integration, including its
benefits, challenges, ethical considerations, and training
needs.
Procedure:
1. Questionnaire Development: The questionnaire
will be pilot-tested with a small group of nurses to
assess clarity, relevance, and reliability. Feedback
from the pilot test will be used to refine the
Research Design and other
questionnaire.

2. Data Collection: Data collection will commence
section
after the questionnaire has been refined. Student
nurses will be solicited to participate via google
form invitations and physical sheet of answers.
Responses will be anonymized to guarantee
confidentiality, and participation is voluntary.
3. Data Analysis: Quantitative data analysis will
involve descriptive statistics (e.g., frequencies,
means) to summarize nurses' responses regarding
AI integration. Inferential statistics (e.g., t-tests,
ANOVA) may be employed to examine potential
differences in perceptions across different
demographics or nursing specialties.
4. Ethical Considerations: This study will adhere to
ethical guidelines, including informed consent,
confidentiality, and voluntary participation. Ethics
approval will be sought from the relevant
institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee
prior to data collection.
