Good Morning Assessors!

I am Niña Gegato Evaristo , submitting myself in


Conducting Competency Assessment. Shall I start?

INTODUCTION:
Good Morning candidates, I am Niña Gegato Evaristo. I am an accredited
competency assessor for Food and Beverage Services NCII amended.
(The assessor must wear his/her ID Card as proof of his/her accreditation).

ACKNOWLEDGMENT:
First of all, I would like to acknowledge the presence of our TESDA
Representative (name), our Processing Officer (name), and to our CAC Manager
(name). You do not have to worry about their presence because they are here to
oversee the conduct competency assessment and to check if the conduct in
assessment is in accordance with the prescribed competency assessment,
methodologies and procedures. They will not assess you.

CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE:
Before we start, please present to me your admission slip.
As I call your name, please acknowledge by raising your hand and sign the
attendance sheet.
(Let the candidates sign on the attendance sheet, compare signature of candidates on the
admission slip against the signature on the attendance sheet).

SELF-ASSESSMENT:
I have here with me your accomplished self-assessment. This is the indication
that you know and you can perform all the units of competency enumerated for
Food and Beverage Services NCII.
(self-assessment guide was given to the candidate by the processing officer of the
assessment center.)

OVERVIEW:
To attain the National Qualification of FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NC
II, the candidate must demonstrate competence in all the units of competency listed
in Section 1. Successful candidates shall be awarded a National Certificate signed by
the TESDA Director General.

The qualification for FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NC II may be


attained through demonstration of competence in all the units of competency
covering all the required core units of qualification.

Assessment shall focus on the core units of competency. The basic and
Common units shall be integrated or assessed concurrently with the core units.

Part 2:

CONTEXT:
In your assessment we will be using 3 areas namely: Holding Area, Assessment
Area and Feedbacking area. In holding area, where you are going to wait when your
number is to be called and you will perform. In assessment area, where you are going
to perform thatswhy you are provided with equipment, tools and materials to use in
assessment. Lastly, the feedbacking area, wherein decision and feedback is done.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this assessment is for you to be evaluated whether/not you
are competent in Food and Beverage Services NCII.

QUALIFICATION:
Today, I am going to administer assessment in Food and Beverage Services
NCII wherein this qualification has 6 core competencies, namely:
1. Prepare the dining room or restaurant area for services
2. Welcome guests and take food and beverage orders
3. Promote food and beverage products
4. Provide food and beverage services to guests
5. Provide room service
6. Receive and handle guest concerns

PROCEDURES:
To determine your knowledge and skills for FBS NCII, the assessment method
you will use will be demonstration and oral questioning. This assessment method
can help to measures your underpinning knowledge and skills. Each one of you is
given numbers, as I call your number proceed to the assessment area for you to
perform. If found competent you shall receive Competency Assessment Result
Summary (CARS) duly signed by me and by the CAC Manager. You can get your CARS
form to the CAC Manager and present it to TESDA Provincial Office for you to claim
your National Certificate.

PART 3:

ALLOWABLE ADJUSTMENT/NEEDS:
For your personal needs, the lavatories is located at the end of the hallway
and you can also take your meal at the canteen located at the lobby. However,
during assessment you are not allowed to leave the premises of the assessment
center.
If you have difficulties in understanding given instruction. Please don’t
hesitate to inform me because I am willing to translate it to you.

FEEDBACK:
Do you have questions or clarifications about the context, purpose,
qualification and procedures?

ANNOUNCEMENT:
In case you have any question regarding the assessment result you have the
right to appeal. You can submit your appeal to the TESDA Provincial Office, for the
Assessment Center and Assessor are accredited. TESDA Provincial Office is open at 8
am and close at 5 pm.

DO’S & DON’TS:


If you have concerns, questions or clarifications you can now raised your
hand because I am willing to help but once the assessment has started, you are not
allowed to ask anymore.

ASSIGN NUMBERS:
Before we start, I will assign numbers. Candidate you will be number 1,
number 2....Please do remember your respective numbers because I’m going to call
you and to rate you according to your numbers. Candidate #1 you will be the first to
enter the assessment room and other candidates will have to wait at waiting area as
I call your number.

Read Specific Instructions:


Now, I am going to distribute this specific instruction. Please read it carefully.
And don’t hesitate to ask question right now. I may be able to translate it from
English to your local dialect. If you need any assistance then I am more willing to
assist you.

Feedback:
Candidates are you done?
Please have a seat and let’s have an oral questioning. (Based on her/his performance)

NOT YET COMPETENT: Based on my observation and the evidence that I have gathered,
you performed the task correctly according to the standard in some areas but I have
noticed that (give the critical area that he/she missed to perform). So, the outcome of the
assessment is you are not yet competent. However you can be re-assessed at your own
convenience.

Please sign the rating sheet and affix your signature in CARS.

COMPETENT: Based on my observation and the evidence that I have gathered, you
performed the task correctly according to the standard. CONGRATULATIONS!

Please sign the rating sheet and affix your signature in CARS. Congratulations and
now you may claim your NCII Certificate at the TESDA Office. If you are going to
claim, bring a CARS form, passport picture and 50 pesos for processing fee of your
certificate after 5 working days. TESDA Office is open at 8:00 in the morning and
close at 5:00 in the afternoon. Again Congratulations!
