• Cloud computing is the delivery of different (On Demand) services through the
Internet. These resources include tools and applications like software, data storage,
servers, databases and networking.

• It is managed by a cloud services provider (or CSP).

• The CSP makes these resources available for a monthly subscription fee or bills them
according to usage.

• SaaS (Software as a Service) – It involves the licensure of a software application to


customers. Licenses are typically provided through a pay-as-you-go model or on-
demand. Using one of these applications, End users can access, share, store and secure
information in the cloud.
Examples: Dropbox, Slack and Microsoft 365, Google drive, salesforce.com.

• PaaS (Platform as a Service) – Platform as a service is an environment in the cloud


where developers can build and deploy apps.
• Example: Salesforce/Force.com and Ms. Azure.

• IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) – Infrastructure as a service provides the


infrastructure that you need to manage SaaS tools, including servers, storage, and
networking resources. It have OS and IP address.
Example: IBM Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco Metapod and Microsoft Azure.
