Industrial Straight Sewing Machine Guide

This industrial sewing machine produces straight, zigzag stitches or a combination of both at a speed of 5,000 stitches per minute. It has a 16 x 231 needle system, automatic reverse device, automatic lubrication and produces a 301 federal stitch. Its main parts include the needle bar, thread take-up cover, stitch length control and presser foot. To form stitches, requires synchronization of the needle and bobbin movements to enter.

INDUSTRIAL STRAIGHT MACHINE

Of the industrial machines, this is the most common; With it, quality sewing is achieved using
straight, zigzag stitches or a combination of both that even allows you to make decorative figures.
Its characteristics are: double straight stitching and 5,000 stitches per minute; 16 x 231 needle
system, automatic return device, automatic lubrication, number of threads 1, needle number 1,
federal stitch 301.

MAIN ELEMENTS
MAIN PARTS

1. needle bar
2. Thread take-up cover
3. oil window
4. Pulley or flywheel
5. Stitch length control
6. Reverse or finishing lever
7. Presser foot
8. Pressure regulator screw.
9. Upper threading tension mechanism.
10. Claim
11. Thread retainer
12. Thread pull lever
13. Thread pulling spring
14. Winder
15. needle plate
16. Band
17. Presser foot screw
18. Needle bar screw
1. needle bar Holds the needle in position. A screw allows easy needle change.
2. Thread take-up cover It serves as protection for both the thread puller and the operator.
3. oil window It allows you to observe the internal oil flow through it for lubrication.
4. Pulley or flywheel It receives the driving force from the engine through the belt. It is
sometimes used by hand and allows the operator to place the needle
up or down and/or make 1, 2, or 3 stitches manually while the machine
is not working.
5. Stitch length control This knob is used to regulate the size of the stitch: the lower the
number, the smaller the stitch, and they range from 1 to 4.
6. Reverse or finishing It is used to make finishes at the beginning or end of sewing when
lever required.
7. Presser foot It is used to press the fabric or fix it while sewing and it comes in many
shapes and for different functions.
8. Pressure regulator This screw is used to regulate the pressure between the presser foot
screw. and the feed.
9. Top threading tension The function of this mechanism is to regulate the tension of the needle
mechanism thread and control the thread feed for stitch formation.
10. Claim The pretension is the first piece that touches the thread in the head of
the machine, its purpose is to regulate the entry of the thread with a
certain smoothness in the tension.
11. Thread retainer It serves to guide the thread throughout its entire journey.
12. Thread pull lever It is a device that pulls just the right amount of thread from the needle
from its supply. Release the amount necessary to form the stitch and
remove the excess thread to fix the stitches. Works together with the
thread puller spring.
13. Thread pulling spring It is another device for exact stitch formation, working together with
the thread take-up lever.
14. Winder It is used to fill the thread spool while the operator continues sewing
15. needle plate It allows the needle to pass through a hole, which must have a
relationship between the needle, the thread and the feed.
16. Band Transmits power from the motor to the drive pulley of the sewing
mechanism
17. Presser foot screw Screw that secures the presser foot to the presser foot bar
18. Needle bar screw Screw that holds the needle in the needle bar

Synchronization

It is a basic requirement for every sewing machine to synchronize the movements of the needle
with those of the bobbin, in such a way that the threads of both intersect to form the stitch.
Tension discs and thread guides are common parts in all machines, which help control both
threads so that the stitch is formed. The action of the presser foot, the needle and the teeth of the
carrier are also necessary, because while the presser foot holds and tensions the fabric, the needle
passes through it and links its thread with the bobbin. The feeder teeth advance the fabric for the
next stitch.
