X9811-UN: Avoid High-Pressure Fluids

Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard
by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections
before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body
from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be
surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene may result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type
of injury should reference a knowledgeable medical source. Such information is available from
Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, U.S.A.

NOTE:

Manual and pilot controls use same system reliefs. Adjustment procedure is the same for both
versions and for all machine serial numbers.

8. Fully raise backhoe boom and hold over relief. Record gauge reading.

9. NOTE:

Both manual and pilot controls use direct acting relief valve after S.N. 943226. This is only system
relief supplied for service for all machines.

After locking nut is loosened, older valve screw is adjusted with hex wrench, newer valve is
adjusted with 22 mm wrench by turning rear housing.

Adjust relief valve (2) to specification if necessary.
