Do you agree with us that the actions are all from human? – Absolutely;
therefore, raising awareness of protecting environment is very important. There
are some useful ways to raise awareness for all students mentioned below.
+ In order to make a contribution to reduce plastic waste as students, schools
should incorporate green space education into the curriculum, teachers can
dedicate class time to lessons on the importance of green spaces and the
benefits they provide. Furthermore, Schools can conduct awareness campaigns
through posters, presentations, and social media to share information about the
benefits of green spaces and encourage students to get involved in conservation
efforts. These campaigns can raise awareness and mobilize students to become
advocates for green spaces.
+ In addition, we can hold some projects and events throughout the year such
as creating a school garden, designing green corners in classrooms or
participating in community clean-up campaigns. These hands-on activities can
help students see the direct impact of green spaces and promote a sense of
responsibility towards the environment.
+ To make it more efficient for raising the awareness, we can post above
practical activities on Facebook or on any other social media platforms to
encourage students and all people to share the content and get attentions from
wider interested viewers. Specially, our school has organized a competition
called “TOASTMASTER 2024: VOICES FOR A SUSTAINABLE
FUTURE” where students make videos using their confidence and speaking
skills to convey good messages about how to protect the environment and help
the Earth become cleaner and better, then encourage everyone to follow and
share the content to reach a wider audience.
We believe that these activities can help to raise students’ awareness about
protecting living environment effectively.

Beside that, we have done research on alternative options to find reasonable
solutions for them. As you can see, plastic waste at school is disposed from
many places such as school kitchen, school medical department and especially
the vending machine. Although our school has hardworking and skillful
cleaning staffs to collect and classify trash everyday but the amount of trash is
extremely large. Here are some suggested solutions from our team with plastic
waste from the vending machine.
+ First of all, we have a practical solution that is simple and straightforward,
that is placing a recycling trash bin next to the vending machine, we could
easily collect and sort plastic bottles, bags or straws from students. By tis way,
cleaning staffs won't have to waste their time classifying or sorting through
regular trash cans while some school art projects require a lot of these used
bottles.
+ Secondly, schools can replace plastic water bottles in vending machines with
compostable paper or biodegradable plastic bottles. This way can contribute a
big part for reducing used plastic trash at school.
+ Thirdly, we can equip a machine that dispenses water (or seltzer), and
students can buy drinks only if they already have personal bottles. That means
students have to use their own bottles to buy and drink water at school. We
believe that this way will help a lot to reduce a large amount of plastic trash at
school.
