3. Participate in our lesson. And most importantly,
4. Respect one another.
Is that clear, class?
Let’s start then.
Yes, teacher!
1. ELICIT Class, last time we talked about “Body parts of animals, and their
uses, functions and importance”, right? Now we are going to
recall our last topic by completing the graphic organizer.
Am I clear? Are you ready?

Ask:
What was the video all about? Teacher, the video is all
about the parts of the
plants.
What are the main parts of the plants?
Roots, stem, leaves,
flowers and fruit
Give at least one (1) example part of the plant and its
function. The water absorbs the
water and nutrients from
the soil.
C. Presenting EXPLORATION TIME
examples/instances
Class, do you have plants at home? Yes, teacher!
of the new lesson
That’s nice to hear. But, did you know that plants do have their No, teacher!
own parts just like animals and humans?
Really? Okay, for today we are all going to learn about the parts
of the plants and their importance.
So, class are you all ready? Yes, teacher we are all
ready!
We are going to have an activity first. In this activity you will be
able to identify the different parts of the plants.
Things needed:
o Small plant
o Magnifying Glass
What to do:
1. Divide the students into two (2) groups.
2. Give the students a small plant.
3. Guide the students in identifying the roots, stem, leaves
and its flower.
4. Using the magnifying glass allow the students to observe
the plant close.
Based on your observation:
- Where was the roots located?
Roots are located at
underground, in the soil.
- Where was the stem located? The stem is located
above the ground,
connecting the roots to
the leaves.
- Where are the leaves located? The leaves are found on
the stem above the
ground
- Where is the flower located? The flower is found on
the stem and can be at
the top or along the sides
of the plant.
Teacher under the
- What can you say about each part of the plants under the magnifying glass the
magnifying glass? roots help the plant take
in water and nutrients
from the soil. The stem
provides support and
transports water and
nutrients between the
roots and leaves. Leaves
capture sunlight for
photosynthesis, and the
flower is where seeds are
formed for the plant to
reproduce.
3. EXPLORE
D. Discussing new Okay class today for our new lesson we will going to learn about
concepts and the main parts of the plants and their functions.
practicing new skills
So, class are you ready to listen?
#1 Yes, teacher!
Okay so kindly lend me your eyes and ears as we are now going
to start our discussion understand? (Students who have
plants at home raise their
Okay thank you. hands).
Class who among you have plants on their house?
Okay I can see that most of you do have plants at their house. Teacher the of the plant
at our house is Guma-
Now class can you give me the name of the plant at your house? mela.
Teacher, it has a
beautiful flower on it.
Yes Xam?
Now Xam what can you say about your plant?
Very good!
Okay class
The main parts of a plant
1. Roots: Roots Absorb water and nutrients from the soil. They
also anchor the plant in the ground for stability.
2. Stem: Stem Provides support for the plant and serves as a
transport system, moving water, nutrients, and sugars between the
roots and leaves.
3. Leaves: Leaves Capture sunlight and use it in a process called
photosynthesis to make food (glucose) for the plant. They also
release oxygen into the air.
4. Flower: Flower The reproductive part of the plant. It produces
seeds, which can grow into new plants. Flowers attract pollinators
like bees and butterflies to aid in the fertilization process.
Plants help people by
releasing oxygen during
photosynthesis, which is vital
for human and animal
respiration, provides fruits
and vegetables and lastly
support pollinators, like bees,
contributing to the
reproduction of many crops and plants.
5. Fruit: The fruit contains the seeds that will be used to plant
and grow the same plant again.
Okay class what are the main parts of the plants again?
The main parts of the
Very good thank you! plants are stem, leaves,
roots, flowers, and fruits.
E. Discussing new Class for you to understand our lesson better we will have a group
concepts and activity.
practicing new skills #2
Class you will be divided into 3 groups. Each group has a specific
task that you need to accomplish.
Am I clear? Yes, teacher!
Okay thank you!
Now, let’s have a group activity:
(Collaborative learning)
(Differentiated instruction)
Okay class while we are doing this activity, please be reminded
by our classroom rules okay?
Group activity
GROUP 1 (Build me)
What you need:
Manila paper
Tape
What to do:
1. Divide the class into two groups. 2. Give them an illustration of
a plant in a separate form and flash cards containing labels of
parts of the plant.
3. Ask the students to place each piece to its proper location.
4. After that ask the students to label the plants with its parts by
putting the flashcards on its appropriate parts.
5. Presents it to the class and check if it is correct.
Group 2 (Discuss me)
What you need:
o Manila paper
o Marker
What to do:
1. Ask the students to discuss the different parts of the plants
using the illustration showed by group 1.
2. Ask the students to state the function of each part
3. Ask the students to state the importance of plants in humans
and give 3 examples.
Group 3 (Poster making)
What you need:
o Bond paper
o Pencil
o Crayon
o Marker
What to do:
1. Ask the students to make a poster a about how are we going to
take plant.
2. Ask the students to explain and present their work in front of
the
Class
Class are you all done? Yes, teacher!
Did you enjoy our activity? Yes, teacher!
Is our activity hard? No, teacher!
Okay thank you.
4. EXPLAIN
F. Developing Mastery Okay class let’s do a short activity again.
(Leads to Formative
Assessment) Is it okay with you class? Yes, teacher it is.
Okay thank you.
For this activity you just need to state and identify what kind of
parts of a plant the question asks. Am I clear? Yes teacher.
1. It Absorb water and nutrients from the soil? Teacher! It’s the roots.
Teacher! It’s the stem.
2. It provides support for the plant and serves as a transport
system, moving water, nutrients, and sugars between the roots and
leaves?
Teacher! It’s the leaves
3. It Capture sunlight and use it in a process called photosynthesis
to make food (glucose) for the plant? Teacher! It’s the flower.
4. It is the reproductive part of the plant. It produces seeds, which
can grow into new plants?
5. ELABORATE
G. Finding practical Class kindly answer the following questions below: (Students are
application of answering the activity)
Questions:
concepts and skills
