Byes Explanation
Since we have 4 teams and a knockout format, ideally, each team should play in each round for
fairness. However, in a 4-team knockout tournament, one team will receive a bye to the next round
to balance the tournament.

Top four teams namely 1, 2, 4 and 5 qualify for Knockout rounds
Tournament committee should form rules regarding placement of teams at semi-finals
before the tournament. Here we placed teams as per their ranking. Other patterns are
1. first team may play with third and second play with fourth ranked team
2. first ranked team may play with fourth ranked team and second ranked ranked team
may play with third ranked team
3. draw of lots may be another choice.

Byes in League
Since there are 5 teams (each team play 4 matches) odd numbers of ranking teams
will have a bye in rounds where they don’t have any matches to be played.
Byes in League Stage:
Since there are 5 teams and 10 matches (each team plays 4 matches), one team will have a bye in
each round of the league stage. Byes are rotated so each team gets a bye once.
Phase 2: Knockout Stage
After the league stage, the knockout stage will commence.

- **Match 2:** 2nd highest points vs 3rd highest points
