Write your own Shakespeare play!

Your grade for T5 entails creating your own play based on either
The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night or A Midsummer Night’s
Dream or the film of Romeo and Juliet.
Working in groups of 4-6 people you will use the characters and
basic plot of your chosen story to write a play set in modern times.
You may use the dialogue from the story (you will need to add to it) but you don’t have to.
You will perform your play live in class ??? after the ???.
You can present your modernised story in different ways; an enaction of the story is of
course always an option but you might also choose to present it in other ways;
For example; a news report, a quiz or reality show, an interview, etc. It really is up to you as
long as we can recognise the Shakespeare story from your play.
Have fun with the story and be creative!
Rules:
1. Every group member will need to speak for about 4-6 minutes, so that means that
you need to have the appropriate amount of text to fill 4 minutes of speech.
2. The minimum length of the play is 16, 20, or 24 minutes (depending on the number
of people per group).
3. Everyone acts and plays a role!
4. Language should be kept decent and in understandable English!
Your grade:
You will be marked on the following points:
1. Every member of the group will get the same BASIC grade for the final play. This
means that all rules have been followed, you have been creative, incorporated stage
props etc!
2. On top of this basic grade every member will be individually marked on the following
points:
* Fluency
* Grammar
* Pronunciation
* Acting performance e.g. Did you really try to act or did you just read your
lines from a piece of paper? Did you use suitable and varied vocabulary?
3. Each group hands in their completed script at least 1 week before the performance
(preferably before your test week begins). This gives you enough time to rehearse.

Good luck & Have fun!
