1.1 INTRODUCTION
According to Edwin B Flippo, “Human Resource Management is the planning,
organizing, directing and controlling of the procurement, development, compensation,
integration, significance and separation of Human Resources, so that individual, organizational
and social objectives are achieved.” Human Resource Management is the strategic approach to
nurturing and supporting employees and ensuring a positive workplace environment. It is the
art of utilization of the existing human resources of the organization in the right way at the
right time in the right place. It is to get and develop the best output from the human resources.

Importance of Human Resource Management:

In the current global work environment, all global companies are focused on retaining the
talent and knowledge held by the workforce. All companies are focused on lowering the
employee turnover and preserving knowledge. New hiring not only entails a high cost but also
increases the risk of the newcomer not being able to replace the person who was working in
that position before. HR departments also strive to offer benefits that will appeal to workers,
thus reducing the risk of losing knowledge. Human Resource Management is mainly
concerned with how people are managed within organizations, focusing on policies and
systems.HR departments and units in organizations are typically responsible for a number of
activities such as

i) Recruitment and selection

ii) Training and development

iii) Performance appraisal

iv) Rewarding

v) Industrial relations

Appraisal is the evolution of worth, quality or merit. In the organization context,

performance appraisal is a systematic evaluation of personnel by superiors or others familiar
with their performance. Performance appraisal is also described as merit rating in which one
individual ranked as better or worse in Comparison 10 others. The basic purpose in this merit
ranking is to ascertain an employee’s eligibility for promotion. “The performance appraisal is
the process of evolution the performance and qualification of the employees in terms of the
requirements of the job for which he is employed, for the purpose of administration including
placement, selection for promotion providing financial rewards and other action which require
differential treatment among members of group as distinguished from actions affecting all
members equally.

The healthcare industry (also called the medical industry or health economy) is an

services to treat patients with curative, preventive, rehabilitative, and palliative care. It includes
the generation and commercialization of goods and services lending themselves to maintaining
and re-establishing health. The modern healthcare industry includes three essential branches
which are services, products, and finance, and may be divided into many sectors and categories
and depends on the interdisciplinary teams of trained professionals and paraprofessionals to meet
the health needs of individuals and populations. The healthcare industry is one of the world's

steadily grown from a couple of hundred in the 1970s to an average of US $4,000 per year in
current purchasing power parities.

include advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT scan, X-ray), operating theaters, intensive care
units (ICUs), cardiac catheterization labs, endoscopy suites, and labor and delivery rooms.

Expert Medical Team: Multi-specialty hospitals employ a diverse team of highly skilled and
experienced healthcare professionals, including:

and collaboration among different medical specialties. This interdisciplinary approach ensures
comprehensive evaluation, treatment planning, and management of complex medical conditions.
Patients benefit from coordinated care delivery, streamlined communication among healthcare
providers, and continuity of care throughout their healthcare journey.
