1. Check before starting:
- Feed pump/ flocculant pump must not start when decanter is not in operation
- Fuel the lubrication device
- Check feed pipe, make sure it is properly connected. Check solid discharge valve, make
sure it is opened.
- Open the cover and clear the residue.
- Turn gearbox pulley and bowl manually, make sure it rotates smoothly and without friction
and abnormal noise.
- Correct motor rotating direction must be verified.
2. Start centrifuge
3. After starting
- Decanter at full speed: start feed pump
- For suspensions with amorphous solids particles or very fine solids particles (several µ):
raise decanter slowly (10-20 min.) to full throughput rate
4. During operation
- Check main bearing temperature (Max. 90 ) after one hour
- No leakage to the gearbox;
- No excessive vibration (if yes, check and find out the cause)
- Check sealing.
- Check the working current of the main and back drive motor.
5. Feed
- In order to ensure stable feeding without impact, the feed liquid is directly fed by positive
displacement pump (such as single screw) and adjusted by frequency converter, so as to
adjust the feed volume and realize automatic control according to separation requirements
and process requirements.
- The valve in front of the feed pipe of the machine must be free of leakage. Generally, gate

valve or stop valve is used.
- The centrifuge must be equipped with a cleaning pipeline to wash the inside of the
machine every time it is shut down or started up, so as to ensure the stable start and
normal use of the centrifuge. In order to realize automatic cleaning, it is required to install
solenoid valve.
- The liquid outlet pipe shall be installed to ensure smooth drainage. It is not allowed to
install the liquid outlet pipeline on a slope to prevent poor liquid discharge or even
backflow
- The connection between the feed pipe, liquid outlet pipe and slag outlet of the centrifuge
and the pipeline system must adopt soft connection, and rigid connection is not allowed,
so as to avoid structural deformation of the centrifuge and resonance of the pipeline
system.
- Record the working condition when classifying or separating materials. When the working
condition changes or the effect of classifying and separating materials is not ideal, refer to
the fault and treatment for corresponding treatment.
6. Stopping the decanter
- Before stop, turn off feed valve first. Open the cleaning pipe valve and feed water until
effluent is clear. Then turn off cleaning pipe valve.
- Switch off the motor power supply after cleaning. Wait for bowl to come to rest.
- When centrifuge stops, the liquid may come out from the solid discharge port. If there is a
high requirement of the solid dryness, please avoid the liquid flow into the solids.
- Drain the bowl by loosening discharge screw-plug on the large cap of the bowl. (Please
screw up the screw-plug after drain)
- Turn the gearbox pulley manually, if it rotates strenuously, clean the bowl again.
- Switch off decanter
7. After stop
- Switch off the main power

If constant torque automatic control system is applied (optional). When the feeding density
increases or feeding quantity increases, the torque of the scroll increases, the system will
automatically increase the speed differential and discharge the solids quickly; When the feeding
density decreases or feeding quantity decreases, the torque of the scroll decreases, the system
will automatically decrease the speed differential and discharge the solids slowly. When torque
return to normal, the gearbox will be back to normal, and ensure the stable discharge of the
solids.
Daily operation is as below:
Start the main motor
Full speed feed water into the centrifuge
After 5 minutes stop water feeding, then feed the material
Stop material feeding, then cleaning
After 20 minutes Stop the machine, stop water feeding
