Internship Reflection 1:

Introduction

During my internship, I had a smooth and enlightening experience. This experience has provided
me with valuable insights into the practical aspects of instructional design and has greatly
contributed to my professional growth.

Mentorship and Support

My mentor was an understanding and professional mentor, providing clear instructions and
valuable support throughout the internship. He made sure to provide me a sense of confidence
and direction throughout the internship period.

Structured tasks and Materials

I was tasked with choosing two topics from a set of options and then given a deadline for content
analysis submission along with a template for structured analysis. This involved thoroughly
examining and understanding the content provided, identifying key components, and organizing
information in a structured manner. The template guided us through the analysis process,
ensuring that we covered all necessary aspects and provided comprehensive insights.

Communication and collaboration

In addition to structured tasks, we benefited from regular virtual meetings held once every 2
weeks for team discussions and progress updates. This approach works well for fostering our
communication skills and sense of unity. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to engage in real-
time communication, through text messages, allowing for quick queries, idea sharing, and
collaborative brainstorming sessions. The ability to communicate effectively in a virtual
environment enhanced our teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Task description and alignment with instructional Design

During the initial phase of my internship, one of the key tasks assigned to us was to choose two
topics from a predefined set of options. This task required careful consideration and analysis to
select topics that aligned with the goals of the instructional design project we worked on. Upon
selecting the topics, we were provided with a clear deadline for content analysis submission. This
deadline-oriented approach helped us develop time management skills and prioritize tasks
effectively. Along with the deadline, we were given a template for structured analysis. The
template provided a framework for organizing our thoughts, conducting a thorough analysis of
the content, and documenting our findings in a systematic manner. The structured analysis
template guided us through this process, ensuring that we covered all essential aspects and
provided comprehensive insights. It served as the foundation for understanding the subject
matter, defining learning objectives, and shaping the instructional materials that would be
developed later in the project timeline.

Alignment with ADDIE mode

Moreover, the tasks directly relate to the field of instructional design, making the internship
highly relevant and beneficial. Each stage of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development,
Implementation, Evaluation) model is reflected in the tasks we undertake. The content analysis
stage, for instance, is a fundamental aspect of the Analysis phase in the ADDIE model. It serves
as the foundation for understanding the subject matter, identifying learning objectives, and
informing the design of instructional materials. Subsequently, I progressed to creating a
storyboard for instructional materials, marking the transition to the Design phase of the ADDIE
model. The storyboard serves as a visual representation of the instructional content, outlining the
structure, flow, and visual elements of the materials. It acts as a blueprint, guiding the
development process and ensuring consistency in the presentation of content, interactions, and
multimedia elements.

In the storyboard, we integrated various elements such as text, graphics, multimedia components,
and interactive features, aligning with the objectives defined during the content analysis stage.
This holistic approach ensures that the final deliverables meet the instructional goals, engage
learners effectively, and facilitate meaningful learning experiences. By aligning our tasks with
the principles of instructional design and the ADDIE model, we were able to progress through
each phase of the project systematically, ensuring a cohesive and effective instructional solution.

Conclusion
Overall, my internship experience, I was not only enlightening but also essential in bridging
theoretical knowledge with practical application in the field of instructional design. The
structured nature of tasks and the adherence to deadlines have given us a taste of professional
life. It not only provided us with practical skills but also instilled confidence in our abilities to
deliver quality work. This blend of responsibility and guidance offered by the mentor made the
internship experience feel rewarding, as it prepares us with a well-rounded understanding of
industry expectations.
