KALINISAN SA BAGONG PILIPINAS PROGRAM

WHAT IS KALINISAN PROGRAM – Literally, it means Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na


Bayan Program, which will be launched nation wide on January 6, 2024.
It aims:
- to RAISE AWARENESS and encourage participation among the Filipino Citizens on
environmental responsibility through proper solid waste management
- to ENCOURAGE local government units to invest in programs, projects and activities on
solid waste management and ecological practices
- to SET UP a recognition system for the cleanest local government units

All Barangays, to be led by the newly elected and appointed Sangguniang Kabataan officials
are hereby enjoined to observe the day conducting “Kalinisan Day” Activities on January 6,
2024 from 7AM to 11AM, such as the following:
1. Conduct clean-up activity together with the community and partner organizations
2. Clean-up sites will focus on streets, canals, other waterways, public markets, schools
and public parks
3. Record the following data: a) number of participants; b) number of sacks collected; and
c) volume of wastes collected
4. Mobilize active beneficiaries of TUPAD
5. Revitalize HAPAG Community Gardens
6. Advocate for the participation of students and teachers in public schools, and state
universities and colleges
7. Upload photos and/or videos of the clean-up activity in their official social media
platforms using the following hashtags: #CleanCommunities
#KALINISANsaBagongPilipinas
8. Encourage all interested volunteers and civil society organizations to join in the clean-up
activity
