Teaching Time 7:00 am No. of Days 1

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of …

Sampling distribution of the sample mean

B. Performance Standard The learners should be able to …

Apply suitable sampling distribution of the sample mean to
solve real – life problems in different disciplines.

C. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Enumerate the different steps in constructing the
sampling distribution of the means, (C)
b. Identifies sampling distribution of statistics, (C)
c. skilfully calculate problems involving mean and
variance of the sampling distribution of the sample
mean, and (P)
d. Appreciates the value of patience and accuracy in
solving problems. (A)

D. Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) Finds the mean and variance of the sampling distribution of
the sample mean. (M11/12SP-IIIe-1)

II. SUBJECT MATTER AND LEARNING RESOURCES

A. Topic Finding the mean and variance of the sampling

C. Motivation “EXPERIMENT TIME”

Indicator 1 - Apply knowledge of content within and across Topic Reveal:
curriculum teaching areas. Materials: Lemon, Cotton buds, Bond Paper, Candle, Lighter

Steps:
1. Squeeze the juice into a small container
2. Drop some lemon juice on a cotton buds of paint brush. Use
this to write a secret message on a piece of paper
3. Time to reveal the secret message. Take a lighted Candle
and slowly glide the paper across the candle making sure not
to leave it long enough to catch it on fire.

Lemon Juice contains carbon compounds. These compounds

are pretty much colorless at room temperature. Heat breaks
down these compounds and releases carbon. When carbon
comes in contact with air (specifically oxygen), oxidation
occurs and the substance turns light or dark brown.

As you can see the hidden message is “Mean and Variance”

It is connected to our topic since we are going to Finds the
mean and variance of the sampling distribution of the sample
