PREFERENCES

( ..LEBIH SUKA....DARIPADA...)

Preference merupakan suatu ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kesukaan atau
dapat juga digunakan untuk meminta pendapat akan sesuatu.

Preference dalam bahasa Inggris bahasa Inggris memiliki dua pola, yaitu

1. Untuk membandingkan aktivitas, contoh :


– Saya lebih suka memancing daripada mendaki.

2. Untuk membandingkan kata benda, contoh :


– Saya lebih suka manggis daripada mangga.

1. Membandingkan Aktivitas
 4 pola kalimat tersebut berikut :

1. Prefer … to ….

– Subjek + prefer + V-ing + to + V-ing

1. I prefer staying at home to going out.

2. She prefers hanging out with you to hanging out with me.

2. Like … better than ….

– Subjek + like + V-ing + better than + V-ing

1. They like fishing better than hiking.

2. My mother likes shopping better than cooking.

3. Would prefer … rather than ….

– Subjek + would prefer + to infinitive + rather than + V-1

1. My uncle would prefer to go to the musuem rather than go to the zoo.

2. I would prefer to do the dishes rather than do the laundry.

4. Would rather … than ….

– Subjek + would rather + V-1 + than + V1

1. Ardy would rather work as a Manager than go into business.

2. Siska would rather shop in the traditional market than shop in the mall.
