Q.1 A card is drawn from a well shuffled deck of 52 cards. Find the probability that it is
(i) a jack (ii) an ace of spade (iii) a queen
(iv) a heart (v) a red card (vi) a card of club
(vii) a ‘9’ of heart (viii) a black king (ix) a non face card
(x) a black king or red queen

Q.2 Five cards – ten, jack, queen, king and an ace of diamonds are shuffled with face downwards. One card
is picked at random.
(i) What is the probability that the card is a queen?
(ii) If a king is drawn first and put aside, what is the probability that the second picked card is the
ace?

Q.3 A bag contains 3 red, 4 white and 5 black balls. One ball is drawn at random from the bag. Find the
probability of getting.
(i) either a red or a white ball
(ii) neither a red nor a black ball

Q.4 A girl tosses two coins. Find the probability that she gets atleast one head.

Q.5 All ace, king and queen cards are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards. One card is drawn at
random from the remaining cards. Find the probability of getting.
(i) a face card (ii) non face card (iii) a queen

Q.6 A letter is chosen at random from the letters of English alphabets. Find the probability that it is
(i) a vowel (ii) a consonant (iii) a letter of the word ‘CHILD’

Q.7 In a year, find the probability that


(i) There are 53 Saturdays, if the year is a leap year.
(ii) There are 53 Sundays, if the year is a non leap year.

Q.8 Two dice are thrown once. Find the probability of obtaining :
(i) a total of 6 (ii) a total of 10 (iii) a total more than 9
(iv) The same number on both dice (doublet)
(v) Sum even number (vi) Product multiple of 2.

Q.9 On tossing three coins simultaneously, find the probability of getting


(i) 3 tails (ii) No tail (iii) 2 tails
(iv) 2 heads & 1 tail (v) Atleast one head (vi) Atmost one tail

Q.10 A dice is thrown once. Find the probability of getting :


(i) a prime number (ii) composite number
(iii) even number (iv) number less than 5
