Grout- Sand-Portland Cement Grout: ANSI A108.10.


Standard Cement Grout: ANSI A118.6.

Unsanded Grout Mixture used for joint with Grout less than 3mm narrower.

Sanded Grout Mixture is used for joint with grout wider than 3mm.

LAYERS OF INSTALLATION OF STONE DIRECTLY OVER CONCRETE

 Apply mortar bed bond coat over concrete of thickness 1.5mm.


 Placement of reinforcing wire mesh over concrete lapped at joints by atleast one full mesh
 Apply mortar bed after applying mortar bed bond coat. Spread, tamp and screed to uniform
thickness at elevations.
 Placement of stone before setting of mortar. Application of 1.5mm thick bond coat at the back of
stone.

LAYERS OF INSTALLATION OF STONE BASE

 Set stones on plaster with epoxy backing on it.


 Masking areas near the joint to stop the smearing of adhesive.
 Clamps units to ensure the surface alignment of the stone.

Stone Stair Tread and Riser Installation

 Follow the same detail comply with stone over concrete installation.

Grouting

 Grout Stone joints with sand Portland cement grout.


 Sanded grout is prohibited for polished stone.
 Grout stone joints with water-cleanable epoxy grout to comply with ANSI A108.6 and with
manufacturer's written instructions.
INTERIOR TILE INSTALLATION SCHEDULE

A. Interior Floor Installations, Concrete Subfloor:


1. Tile Installation F121: Cement mortar bed (thickset) on waterproof membrane; TCA F121
and ANSI A108.1A.

a. Thin-Set Mortar for Cured-Bed Method: Latex- Portland Cement mortar.


b. Grout: Polymer-modified unsanded grout.
• wherever a waterproof interior floor is required in conjunction with ceramic tile installed on a
portland cement mortar bed.

Water Proofing

Sheet Membrane as per ANSI A118.10.

Mortar as per ANSI A108.1A.

Stone tile installation


Comply with TCA's "Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation" for TCA installation methods specified in stone
tile installation schedule.

For Carpet Tile Installation layers

 Hydraulic cement based compound as per carpet tile manufacturer.


 Adhesive for installing tile with having VOC content of 50g/L.
 Metal edge strip required to protect the exposed edge of carpet.

For Solid Vinyl Tile Installation

Thickness of tile 3mm

Hydraulic cement based compound as per manufacturer applied on substrate.

Adhesive for installing tile.

Chemically bonding seam compound.

Floor Polish recommended by manufacturer.
