Ski Trails
Skiers have different levels of ability. Some skiers can ski down fast slopes. Other skiers need slow, gentle slopes. Most mountains
have color labels to show the difficulty of each ski trail.

In the United States, ski trails with a green circle are easy. They have a wide and gentle slope. Intermediate ski trails have a blue
square. These are the most popular. A black diamond is for difficult ski trails. They can be narrow and fast.

Mountains in Europe and Japan also use colors to show the level of ski trails. Green is for beginners. Blue is for intermediate skiers.
Red is difficult, and black is for experts only.

Remember that ski trails can be difficult to compare at different mountains. It is best to start off on easier trails when skiing on a new
mountain.
