Trabungko and its concept


One of the folks from Poblacion, Barotac Viejo shared her own knowledge
as she saw the Trabungko when she was a kid, as she emphasized:
T1"mag sanag bulan gina lagas lqgas ya mana gina hampanganan nya
mana iya nga trabungko...nagalutaw na sya..ang sanag ya ga alsa alsa...bato sya
pero kun masulod sa tela ga humok...indi mona sya makita ang man og ...kanami
nga pagkasiga indi masilaw, indi masakit sa mata ...ang man og nga may
trabungko once lang na sya makita nimo mag sanag ang bulan..."
English translation
The moon is shining and he is playing with it. He is already floating, the
light is lifting and lifting and his light is not dazzling and does not hurt the eyes.
It's a stone that softens when it's in the fabric. The one with the trabungko can
only be seen once when the moon is shining
One of the Manugbulong from Barangay San Roque shared his knowledge
about trabungko and it was told to him by his ancestors, as he emphasized:
T2” indi mona makita ang trabungko kung indi pag iluad sang man
og...gulpi lang nag sanag na muna...daw natural lang bala masanag e...perti ina
kasanag sa palibot nya...ga igpat na sya ...puti gid parehos sang bombilyam..gin
tulon ya ang trabungko...ang trabungko amuni kadako hu daw roll on...gin tulon
yag to iya..”
English Translation
The trabungko is not big enough, it seems to be that big and you won't even
see it if the snake spit it out... It's shining but it seems that its brightness is
natural, bright around, and it looks like a white light bulb. The size of the
trabungko seems to be like a roll on.
Another Manugbulong also shared her knowledge about trabungko. She
also said that it was said by her mother because she ask her when she was little as
she highlighted:
T3” indi mona mahalin ang trabungko,gasiga ina daw flashlight bala nga
ga siga ti muna ih ang trabungko bulawan na mo...ang trabungko sa man og
muna makita...sa baba na...bulawan ina,ang tawag trabungko...daw adlaw ina
nga gasiga dsw flashlight bala gha, daw flashlight bala nga naga siga...siling ko
mama ko ano inang trabungko siling ya bulawan e...kung indi mona napatay ang
man og, indi kaman kakuha...ang trabungko ngana hambal siling ya jun amin na
bulawan sing ko te din mona makita siling ya sa man og... kay amo na abg gina
gamit nila para mangita sang pagkaon nila amo na ang daw flashlight...daw
crystall bala ga siga...pasiga ka flashlight amu na sya...”
English translation
"I asked my mother, I said, "What is the "trabungko", she said it's gold, and
I asked her again, where can I find it, and it's in the mouth...she can't sell the
"trabungko", and it's already lit." your flashlight is gold... it's like a crystal light...
it's like the sun... because that's what they use to find their food, it's like a
flashlight... if it didn't kill the man, no you're going to get the "trabungko"..."
Another Manugbulong from the Municipality of Barotac Viejo shared she
knowledge about Trabungko. She also add some story about it as he highlighted:
T4"oo gasiga ina trabunglo amuna,siling nila nga trabungko gasiga daw
kwan ina daw itlog kadako ng manok ng oo matipulon dasun ga siga ina gatung
tung mana sa ukon sa baba mana...bato nga anting anting..gatung tung nayabsa
lawas nya sa baba ya ... kung kaisa gabulag mana sa lawas nya gabulag sa luyo
nya...matipulo nabiya...may mga trabungko nga mga man og dagko ina nga man
og...."
English translation
"The "trabungko" will burn, they say, like an egg the size of a chicken, it will
burn until it reaches your mouth and... it's like a stone like an amulet. If it is ever
separated from its body or its mercy . The ones with the "trabungko"are big."
One of the resident from Baranggay San Geronimo also shares his
knowledge about trabungko as he accentuated:
T5 “trabungko daw kwan na sya daw hulin bala nga bola-bola nga hulin
gasiga siga gina tago nayam...kay trabungko mo daw ga pang ganyat bala sa ila
nga sa ila nga pagkaon...daw hulin malang na sya kadakonga ga siga daw kwan
na bala daw peas na nila nga ga siga kung gab e...gina luad ara na sa sulod gina
luad na nila...”
English translation
"The trabungko looks like a pearl or a ball that glows at night and it is
hidden by the snake...The manog makes him look like clay."
Lastly, another manugbulong from Vista Alegre shares her knowledge
about trabungko as she emphasized:
"matipulon lang na ang trabungko ang ah pareyas man sang man og
mu...delikado mana ang trabungko...palarehos mana sila nga sapat...huo sapat
na ...way gd na gapadaog ang trabungkotana mo maisog na"
English translation
"The trabungko is the same as the snake...The trabungko is
dangerous...they are both animals...Trabungko is strong enough not to be
defeated because it is brave"

TRABUNGKO’S MAGICAL POWER


Trabungko has a magical power. The magical power of the trabungko is
youish for something you want and it might come true or it will become a
misfortune. As one of the key informa,ts narrated:
T1 "madala nyo na sa balay nyo ma wish kalang kuno kung ano matabo
sa panimalay nyonga ma atuhan kamo nagaw. kwan lang na sya ga daw ga
kwan bala gatuman nga naga mayuof paagi man iya nga naga bakas kalang
pero kung gahulat kalang wala man ..."
English translation
"The "trabungko" that you can bring to your home is to wish for what you
want to happen In your home that you will be healed”
Another key informant also said that “Trabungko” has a magical power
that can change a life to whoever can took it from the snake. As he said:
T2"kung makwa mo ina may posible may gahum ka...may trabungko
debuynas pangabuhi mo"
On the other hand, another key informant supported the concepts about
the trabungko. As she said:
T3“kun madakpan mo inang trabungko inang man og ma kwa mona naga
managgaraon ka sina...makuha mona siling ya ma managgaranon ka...”
