1. Introduction of Microsoft Word.

The first ever version of Microsoft word-Word 1.0 was launched in


October 1983 and developed by former Xerox programmer Charles
Simonyi and Richard Brodie.

The two were hired by Microsoft Founder Bill Gates and Paul Allen, in
1981. At this time word was called MultiTool word.

2. What is Microsoft?

Microsoft Word – is a widely used commercial word processor designed


by Microsoft. Microsoft word was initially launched in 1983 and has since
been revised numerous times. It is available for both Window and Apple
operating system. Microsoft word is often called simply MS Word or
Word.

4. Give the function of the tools of MS Word.

1) File – is an objection a computer that stores data, information, settings, or


command used with a computer program.
2) Home – it is used to return you to the main page or homepage of whatever
application program you’re using.
3) Insert – the insert key also known as “Ins” key, is a keyboard key found on
most computer keyboard. This key is used to toggle between tow function-
typing mode and overwrite mode.
4) Design – is the consideration of the main objective for a piece of graphic
work and how well a design is explored and executed to meet that end.
5) Page layout – used to create document with more custom design, like
newsletters books or posters.
6) References – in computer programming, a reference is a value that enables
a program to indirectly access a particular data, such as a variable’s value
a record, in the computer’s memory or in some storage device.
7) Mailings – create a batch of documents that are personalized for each
recipient. It is most of ten used to print or email form letter to multiple
recipients.
8) Review – you cannot edit but instead you are allowed to add suggestions
to the document in the form of comment or tracked changes.

5. Purpose of Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Word is a text processing application. It allows the user to


configure the attributes of a document, such as layout and the styles of
content and to add their content in a variety of ways and format to
produce document.

6. History of Microsoft Word.

Microsoft word – is a multifunctional computer technology corporation.


Microsoft was founded on April 4, 1975, by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its current best-selling products are the
Microsoft windows operating system, Microsoft office – a suite of
productivity software, Xbox – a line of entertainment of game, music and
videos, Bing – a line of search engines: and Microsoft Azure – a cloud
services platform.
