Introduction

In this documentation, I will be sharing the experiences of our group, John, Gilbert, and myself
as we each took on the challenge of planting different types of vegetables. Daniel focused on
cultivating pechay, Gabriel on kangkong, and I chose to plant monggo. Through our individual
efforts, we aim to explore the process of planting greens and present our observations in this
documentation.

Overall Gardening Experience:

Over the course of four weeks, Daniel, Gabriel, and I planted different v egetables, facing
challenges like adjusting watering and dealing with pests. Despite the difficulties, we found joy
in seeing our plants grow. The experience taught us patience, adaptability, and appreciation for
nature's processes. Overall, it was a rewarding journey of learning and growth.

Our Documentation

Ghieyan’s Documentation
Here’s a little insight, as a grown up adult I can’t imagine planting as a
school project but over the time I enjoyed it.

Week 1:
I prepared the soil and planted monggo seeds in my backyard. After
watering them, I waited for them to sprout.

Week 2:
Sprouts started appearing, so I kept watering them regularly and made
sure they got enough sunlight.

Week 3:
The monggo plants kept growing, so I thinned them out and added
fertilizer. (Chicken waste)

Week 4:
At the end of the month, the plants had grown into vines, but they
weren't ready for harvest yet. I was satisfied with their progress and
looked forward to the future havest
Gabriel’s Documentation:
Week 1:
I started cutting the kangkong stems and plant in
underwater for regrowing.

Week 2:
After a while, I saw little shoots coming up. I kept
watering them and gave them enough sunlight, but some
leaves turned yellow, i transferred it to soil and I adjusted
my watering and added some fertilizer.

Week 3:
By the third week, my kangkong plants were taller, with more
leaves. I kept an eye out for pests and diseases and trimmed the
leaves when needed.

Week 4:
At the end of the month, I was happy with how my kangkong had
grown. I harvested the leaves carefully and cooked them up as
sahog for sinigang.

Daniel’s Documentation:

Week 1:
I chose a sunny spot in my backyard for planting pechay.
After prepping the soil and planting the seeds, I watered
them well and added some mulch.

Week 2:
Two weeks in, I saw seedlings sprouting. I made sure to
water them regularly, but some got waterlogged during heavy
rain. I fixed that and kept an eye on them.

Week 3:
As the seedlings grew, I thinned them out and added some fertilizer to help them along.

Week 4:
By the end of the month, my pechay plants were ready to harvest. I picked the outer leaves and
cooked them up for a meal.
What we Learned

Firstly, patience and persistence are essential virtues in gardening. From preparing the soil to
nurturing plant growth, each week presents new challenges that require dedication and
perseverance.

Secondly, gardening teaches adaptability. Dealing with unexpected obstacles like pests and ducks
or too hot weather conditions requires flexibility to adjust our approach accordingly.

Attention to detail is another important lesson learned from gardening. Monitoring plant growth,
identifying issues early, and taking proactive measures are essential for ensuring healthy plant
development.

Lastly, gardening brings joy, relaxation, and well-being. Spending time outdoors, engaging in
physical activity, and nurturing living plants have positive effects on our mental and emotional
health, promoting overall well-being since we can treat it as pets.
