ADVOCATING PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST FOR PROMOTING STUDENTS
PHYSICAL WELLNESS
Introduction
Physical activity is an integral part of every individuals lives it is an activity involving a
person bodily movements to create an action or mobility for a particular or a specific physical
activity, such as in many different sports and also in everyday activity of a person. Promoting
physical activities to students is not a new concept in education, it is a part of a curriculum of a
student called Physical education an curriculum that teaches students about different physical
activities, its significance and benefits. But we the students of School come up and created a
concept not just to promote but to test out our students physical capabilities by proposing a
physical fitness test. A physical fitness test is used to measure out the capability of a student for
evaluating the physical capacity such as strength endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility
and balance required in performing in many physical task and exercises namely 50 yard dash,
push-ups, dead hang, sit-ups and squats. These activities are performed by students for them to
push their limits to better understand their capabilities. But it has many different fitness
assessment or classification levels that are based on students gender, age and experience specific.
For example a male students has more intensive test than female students. With this identifying
the foundational capabilities of our students is an sustainable way to enhance everyone’s
physical perks.
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of physical fitness test is to introduce the concept of a physical fitness test to
our school towards deeper understanding of personal fitness levels of the students.

set fitness goals that can be achieved through developmentally appropriate
physical activities.

limitations gaining an understanding of their own capabilities for them to pursue
their growth.
iii. It will be a useful tool for preparing to students to perform in a certain task and
enhancing their own strengths and weaknesses beneficial to their general personal
development.

This concepts paper seeks to answer and explain the different questions related for
this kind of concept such as:
1. What physical attributes of the students are targeted or being initiated
when doing a physical fitness test?

Stakeholders and Beneficiaries
The stakeholders of this concept are the school educators, as this concept can
serve a beneficial purpose to them to better understand their student capabilities. And the
targeted beneficiaries of this concept are the Students/Learners because this concept is directed
to them for better knowing themselves through physical assessment enhancing and furthering
their growth.
Short Description
Physical fitness test measures and examines the students physical fitness level. It is an
effective strategy to assess the students current fitness level and will help provide more
understanding on how healthy the students are. Therefore motivating and encouraging active
lifestyle to the students, fostering their development with a healthy lifestyle.
Methodology
This concept rely both the cooperation of teachers and students to be applied effectively.
Implementing Physical fitness test can be a bit comprehensive and systematic but this part will
briefly explain the process of this concept. First of all the students need to be sort out based of
their gender, age , grade level and health conditions for a more balanced and safety assessment
for the students, each classification has its own objective to do for example male students needs
to do more repetition of physical activity like push-ups than females, and females will do more
easier variation of physical activity than males. After sorting out the students the teachers may
start implementing the test. The teachers can become the examiner/assessors to measure or assess
their students through the different variation of physical activities. Some examples physical
activities that can be a part of the test can be found at the introduction part of our concept. After
the teachers implemented the test they may evaluate or grade their students based of their
performance further understanding their students abilities. In my opinion this test can be a part of
physical education curriculum, PE teachers may use this concept as an activity to the students for
their subjects because this concept can be suitable part of studying physical education.
