INTENSIVE PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Jo’s Acres Dairy Farm
Jo's Acres Dairy Farm is situated in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, spanning an
expansive 15 hectares. The region boasts a moderate climate, ideal for the efficient
production of milking cattle. The primary offering is high-quality cow's milk, renowned for
its source of protein and health benefits. Given the absence of established dairy farms in
Dumingag, Jo’s Acres Dairy Farm stands to gain a significant advantage by becoming one
of the leading milk producers in Zamboanga del Sur.
Objectives
1. To forecast and plan the dairy cattle production in starting a dairy farm business.
2. To determine what the possible financial prospect are to consider in starting a dairy
farm.
3. To analyze various factors in making herd projection such as current herd size, technical
assumption of the farm, feed intake, income prospect, milk production rates and market
demand.
Significance
Herd dairy projection is important to provide and support in the production,
processing and marketing activities of all people engaged in the business of milk and other
dairy products through the provision of essential herd projection especially it will help the
small dairy farmer living in rural areas. It also provides a collective arrangement such as
dairy animals, dairy inputs, feeds, equipment, materials, expenses, and income statement.
Farm Location
The 10 hectare land will be rent by the owner. The strategic selection of a farm's
location and its thoughtful design are crucial for optimal operation. Farms are ideally
situated on elevated, well-drained terrain, ensuring a dry environment. Accessibility by
road is essential, but a prudent distance from human settlements should be maintained.
Grazing, browsing, and harvesting areas should by located in vicinity of the farm.
Dumingag, acclaimed as the organic capital of the Philippines, is positioned in the
town of Zamboanga del Sur, nestled in the northwest of the fertile Salug Valley. Its land
boundaries encompass the municipality of Sergio Osmena, Sr., in Zamboanga del Norte to
the north, and the municipality of Siayan to the west. Classified as a 3rd class municipality,
Dumingag offers an ideal location for agricultural endeavors.

Farm Layout
Designing an efficient dairy farm layout requires careful planning and consideration of
various factors, including site selection, infrastructure, cow comfort, and productivity. By
prioritizing the welfare of the dairy herd and implementing modern farming practices, dairy
farmers can optimize their operations and ensure the sustainability of their businesses. A well-
designed dairy farm layout not only enhances productivity and profitability but also contributes
to the overall health and well-being of the animals and the environment.
