II. Solve The Following Question In Very Short - (8x 1 ½ = 12)

1. Evaluate - 372 – 362 .

2. Find the unit place of square of 101 .

3. Evaluate - √8 x √125

4. Factorise - 15x + 5.

5. Find the value of b - 3( b-4) = 2(4-b)

6. Write the EULER'S FORMULA.

7. Convert 1m3 = cm3

8. Write the formula of the total surface area of cuboid.

III. Solve the following question in short- (10x2=20)

9. Is 180 or perfect square ?

10. By splitting into prime factors find the square root of 11025

11. Without doing the actual edition find the sum of


1+3+5+7+9+11+13+15+17+19+21+23.

12. Can a polyhedron 8 faces, 26 edges and 16 vertices?


13. Using EULER'S formula find the value of x

Faces = x , Vertices = 15 , Edges = 20

14. The total failure surface area of a cube is 216 sq. Cm. Find it's volume.

15. The length of the diagonal of a cube is 8 ✓3 find it's volume.

16. A letter is chosen from the word PENCIL what are the probability that the
letter choosen is a consonant.

17. Write the formula of the amount of the compound interest for 3 years if it of
the 8 and 5th different in each year.

18. Find the square root by the process of long decision method 18265.

22. The cube root of :

A) 700 x 2 x 49 x 5. B) -216 x 1728

23. A) Find the smallest perfect square is divisible by 3 , 4, 5 and 6.

B) √ 248 + √ 52 + √ 144

24. Calculate the compound interest for the second year on ₹ 4000 invested for 3
years at 10% for annum .

Or
Calculate the compound interest on ₹ 6000 for 2 years at 10% per year.

Section - C

25. A) Factories a2 b - b3 . Using this result, find the value of 1012 x 100 – 1003 .

B) Factorise xy2 – xz2 , hence find the value of - 9 x 8 2 - 9x2x22 .

26 . What is the least number by which 6750 may be divided so that the quotient
is a perfect cube?

OR

Which is the smallest number that must be multiplied to 77175 to make it a


perfect cube?

27. On what principle will the simple interest will be ₹ 7008 in 6 years 3 months
at 5% per year .

Or

Find the amount and the compound interest on rupees ₹ 12000 in 3 years when
the rates of interest for successive years are 10% 12% and 15% respectively.

Long answer type questions – (7x5=35)

28. The external length, breadth and height of a closed wooden box are 30 cm,
18 cm and

20 cm respectively. If the walls of the box are 1-5 cm thick, find:

(1) capacity of the box;

(ii) volume of the wood used in making the box;

(iii) weight of the box; if 1 cm³ of the wood weighs 0.80 g.

The dining-hall of a hotel is 75 m long, 60 m broad and 16 m high. It has five-doors
4 m by 3 m each and four windows 3 m by 1.6 m each. Find the cost of:

(i) papering its walls at the rate of ₹12 per m²;

(ii) carpeting its floor at the rate of ₹25 per m²

29. .A Rectangular sheet of paper 44 cm x 18 cm is the role the long its length
and a cylinder is formed find the radius and the volume of the cylinder formed.

Or

The Floor of a rectangular hall at the perimeter to 250 m. If the cost of painting
the four walls at the rate of 10 per metre square is rupees 15000 find the height
of the wall.

30. A bag contains 3 white, 5 black and 2 red balls, all of the same size. A ball is
drawn from the bag without looking into it, find the probability that the ball
drawn is :

(i) a black ball

(ii) a red ball

(iii) a white ball

(iv) not a red ball

(v) not a black ball


31.A man invest ₹ 9600 at 10% per annum compound interest for 3 years.
calculate :

I) the interest for the first year

ii) the amount at the end of the first year

III) the interest for the second year

Iv) the interest for the third year

Or

A certain sum of money, invested for 5 years at 8% p.a. simple interest, earns an
interest of 12,000. Find :

(i) the sum of money.

(ii) the compound interest earned by this money in two years at 10% p.a.
compound interest.

32. One day a boy walked from his house to his school at the speed of 4 km/hr
and he reached ten minutes late to the school. Next day, he ran at the speed of 8
km/hr and was 5 minutes early to the school. Find the distance between his house
and school.

33. Write the five properties of a square number.

Or

Write the step to find square root by using long division method explain with an
example.

34. The curved surface of a cylinder is Rs 17600 cm2 and circumference of its base
is 220cm find –

i) the height of the cylinder.

Ii) the volume of their set .
