Educational research provides a vast landscape of knowledge on topics related to teaching and
learning, curriculum and assessment, students’ cognitive and affective needs, cultural and socio-
economic factors of schools, and many other factors considered viable to improving schools.
Accordingly, the purpose of educational research is to engage in disciplined inquiry to generate
knowledge on topics significant to the students, teachers, administrators, schools, and other educational
stakeholders. Action research is an approach to educational research that is commonly used by
educational practitioners and professionals to examine, and ultimately improve, their pedagogy and
practice.

2. Since this event is deemed significant, let us officially commence our gathering today by

asking divine intervention as _____________, a ______________ teacher lead us all in

prayer. Let us all stand.

3. And now, to affirm the significance of this event, let us welcome the President of the Graduating Class
of Teacher Education Department, for his opening remarks.

4. Now, we know what we came here for. If someone would ask us why you are here, your answer
would be to attend the orientation-seminar but specifically what do you think are our goals of being

here today? Well if you’re not sure yet, let’s listen and be guided as our very own, Professor head of
curriculum and instructions will give us the statement of purpose.

5. Indeed, this undertaking will help our participants to embrace and understand how action research
represents an extension of the reflection and critical self-reflection that an educator employs on a daily
basis in their classroom.

And now, Moving right along, it is now my pleasure to introduce the first speaker of this orientation-
seminar. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce to you our speaker for today’s seminar, a
renowned expert in her field and has made significant contributions to our institution. She received her
Masters Degree in ____________ from ___________________ and her Doctoral Degree at
_________________ .

Without further ado, it is my great pleasure to introduce our first speaker. I invite you all to join me in
giving her a warm welcome as she shares her expertise and insights on CBAR: Revisiting the Process as
