3.1 General Installation Procedure:

- Ensure that the proper clearance is available from civil side before commencement of works
- Ensure that the work area is clean and safe for carrying out the activities
- Prior to start of works, it shall be ensured that the relevant shop drawings and coordination drawings are approved and issued for construction.
- It shall be ensured that no contraction with other previously installed services, and if there is any shall be cleared.
- It shall be ensured that the material issued is as per the approval material submittal.
- Check proper supports for the erection is available (if applicable).

3.2 Installation:-

3.2.1 Installation of PVC Conduits in Slabs

- Mark location of DBs and then mark the location of outlets on shuttering before steel fixing, if installation is on ground floor, mark locations after RCC.
- Fix the boxes for outlets on the shuttering / floor rigidly with proper nails.
- After 1st layer of steel is fixed start conduiting from DB end to outlets, laying of conduits should be done in smooth curves. Avoid sharp bends. Conduits to be fixed steel
binding wire. Conduits to be strongly held by steel reinforcement with binding wire.
- Check all conduits laid are secured to steel reinforcement.
- Mark location of conduits to be dropped to walls under the slab carefully so that all conduits are falling within block work.
- Pull boxes are to be place as shown in locations shown in drawings. Ensure that the pull boxes are not visible on finished exposed areas.
- Conduits should not be placed over another conduit in slab. Conduits are installed with care avoiding over run of one conduits on another conduit.
- Complete the installation check list and offer for Client / Consultant inspection.

3.2.2 Installation of concealed conduits on walls

- MS/PVC conduits up to 25mm dia are concealed in 2 masonry block works for single conduits or multiple conduits in walls.
- Marking for conduits are to be made on completion of block work. The marking should be clear and visible.
- Marking for Junction Boxes for switches, sockets, non-standard fittings etc to be made as per approved drawings.
- Back boxes for non-standard items to be arranged prior to installation and should be installed along with other boxes before plastering. Cutting, chasing of plastered wall to be
avoided unless it is necessitated by a change order.
- MS conduits in chased recesses are to be fixed rigidly with proper supports to the wall.
- Conduits from trunking to DBs are concealed. If the numbers of conduits are more than 4 numbers these conduits are to be concealed in concrete. Such locations are to be
identified before the commencement of block work. Conduit blank area shall be left for concreting after completion of block work and conduiting.
- The mounting height of switches, sockets, break glasses, bells etc shall be marked as shown in drawings.
- Complete the installation check list and offer for Client / Consultant inspection.

3.2.3 Installation of MS/GI conduits on open area

- All surface conduits are to be with MS conduits and fittings.

- The entire routes for MS/GI conduits are to be marked and saddles are fixed in straight line for surface installations.
- The bending and threading of MS/GI conduits to be done by bending machines and threading tools.
- Installation to be done in straight lines with saddles placed center to center spacing of 600mm minimum.
- Offsets at beams, columns etc to be done with proper finish..
- Cut-ends of MS/GI conduits shall be properly reamed.
- Complete the installation check list and offer for Client / Consultant Inspection.

3.3 Safety
- Head Protection: - Hard hats or helmets should be worn where there is the possibility of injury from falling objects. All time mandatory.
- Foot Protection: - Safety shoes should be worn if there are hazards from falling objects or when handling heavy crates or equipment. All time mandatory.
- Hand Protection: - Gloves should be used while handling Earth flat to avoid cutting. All time mandatory.
- Eye and Face protection: - Eye glasses, nose mask, or face shields should be worn.
- Ear Protection:-It may be necessary to wear ear plugs or muffs when noise levels surpass 85 decibels.
- Shoulder protection: - Shoulder pads should be worn, if in case of manual straddling.
- Height work area shall be hard barricaded and only authorized persons will enter inside the earthing works
- Proper housekeeping should be done daily after finishing of works in the evening.
- As we are all aware regarding the COVID-19, we should take our own precautions to control the spreading rate while activities going at site, so compulsory masks & sanitizers should be used at
