3 PREPARATION
3.2 Installation:-
- Mark location of DBs and then mark the location of outlets on shuttering before steel fixing, if installation is on ground floor, mark locations after RCC.
- Fix the boxes for outlets on the shuttering / floor rigidly with proper nails.
- After 1st layer of steel is fixed start conduiting from DB end to outlets, laying of conduits should be done in smooth curves. Avoid sharp bends. Conduits to be fixed steel
binding wire. Conduits to be strongly held by steel reinforcement with binding wire.
- Check all conduits laid are secured to steel reinforcement.
- Mark location of conduits to be dropped to walls under the slab carefully so that all conduits are falling within block work.
- Pull boxes are to be place as shown in locations shown in drawings. Ensure that the pull boxes are not visible on finished exposed areas.
- Conduits should not be placed over another conduit in slab. Conduits are installed with care avoiding over run of one conduits on another conduit.
- Complete the installation check list and offer for Client / Consultant inspection.
- MS/PVC conduits up to 25mm dia are concealed in 2 masonry block works for single conduits or multiple conduits in walls.
- Marking for conduits are to be made on completion of block work. The marking should be clear and visible.
- Marking for Junction Boxes for switches, sockets, non-standard fittings etc to be made as per approved drawings.
- Back boxes for non-standard items to be arranged prior to installation and should be installed along with other boxes before plastering. Cutting, chasing of plastered wall to be
avoided unless it is necessitated by a change order.
- MS conduits in chased recesses are to be fixed rigidly with proper supports to the wall.
- Conduits from trunking to DBs are concealed. If the numbers of conduits are more than 4 numbers these conduits are to be concealed in concrete. Such locations are to be
identified before the commencement of block work. Conduit blank area shall be left for concreting after completion of block work and conduiting.
- The mounting height of switches, sockets, break glasses, bells etc shall be marked as shown in drawings.
- Complete the installation check list and offer for Client / Consultant inspection.
