Project: Construction of Kelan Banwa for the Palaw’an Indigenous Group in Mount Puyog,
Brooke’s Point, Palawan

II. Designation and Observable Actions:
● Project Manager
○ Overall coordinator for funds and external affairs
○ Responsible for overall planning, coordination, and execution of the
construction project.
● Site Supervisor: Oversees daily activities on the construction site, ensures
adherence to safety protocols, and manages workforce.
● Architect: Designs the Kelan Banwa structure, considering both traditional
Palaw'an architectural elements and modern engineering principles.
● Civil Engineer: Provides technical expertise in structural design, ensuring the
stability and safety of the building.
● Community Liaison Officer: Acts as a bridge between the project team and
the Palaw'an community, facilitating communication and addressing concerns.
● Environmental Specialist: Ensures that construction activities comply with
environmental regulations and minimally impact the local ecosystem.
● Cultural Consultant: Advises on cultural sensitivities and ensures that the
design and construction respect and preserve Palaw'an cultural heritage.
● Procurement Officer: Manages the sourcing and acquisition of construction
materials, equipment, and services.
● Safety Officer: Monitors and enforces safety regulations on the construction
site to prevent accidents and injuries.

Kelan Banwa construction will include the following observable actions:


1. Clearing and preparation of the construction site while respecting the local
environment and cultural heritage.
2. Gathering of traditional construction materials like timber, bamboo, and cogon
grass.
3. Traditional construction techniques such as interlocking timber joints and
woven bamboo walls.
4. Involvement of the Palaw'an Indigenous Group in every phase of
construction, ensuring their active participation and empowerment.
5. Incorporation of sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
III. Product: The Kelan Banwa will be a traditional community center and gathering
space for the Palaw'an Indigenous Group. It will serve as a hub for cultural activities,
meetings, ceremonies, and educational programs.

the remote location of Mount Puyog.
