Completion Procedure of the development and observation wells with the 7” cemented liner:
1. Run and cement 7” Liner to the final depth of the well.
2. Perform pressure and dry pressure test at the lap of 7” Liner.
3. Clean and condition the well column up to the top of LDC depth using appropriate tools.
[4.] Take Radial Cement Bond LogSegmented Bond Tools / CCL / GR logs from 7” Liner and
perform remedial action if the cement does not have satisfying quality.
4.[5.] After selecting the optimal perforation method and appropriate bullets based on the
simulation, the perforation will be performed in the desired interval.
5.[6.] Clean the well using high viscous pill and take injectivity test from perforation intervals,
and, if necessary, perform acidizing.
Acid and suitable additives should be selected according to the rock and fluid properties
of the reservoir.
6.[7.] Circulate fluid column in the well with high pH and anti-corrosion materials.
7.[8.] The long Completion string equipped with 3SV which has been designed using simulators
with optimal diameter and length, well will be driven into the well. It is suggested to set
tubing depth at 2200m ±200m (4 ½ inch). It should be noted that, the mentioned values are
just used as guidance and the basis for the Extra work and reduction of work is ±200m. SPM
should be considered as next table.
It should be noted that, the mentioned values are just used as guidance.
8.[9.] Standard wellhead are to be installed and tested.
9.[10.] While recording the flow data, the well should be flowed by nitrogen.
At the time of drainage of the drilling fluid, the well will be flowed through the injection of
nitrogen at 3 gallons per minute on a ½” choke, and after that, the oil will be flowed using a 3/8”
choke into the production unit, while checking and recording the flow data.
It is worth mentioning that in order to prevent the lost circulation and damage of the
reservoir rock during the drilling phase in the Asmari reservoir, as well as during the
Page | 117
NISOC Drilling Tender -Scope of Work
completion of the well, the appropriate mud, along with the reservoir-compatible additives,
should be used in such a way as the rate of “Return permeability” is at least 95%.
When choosing drilling fluid additives to prevent lost circulation, tests for its compatibility
with the reservoir rock and its results should be sent to client for approval.

1. Run 7” slotted Liner to the final depth (TD) of the well and make sure it is possible to get
access the TD.
7” slotted liner should be selected with appropriate arrangement and number of
perforations according to the well and reservoir conditions and OFA.
2. The long Completion string equipped with 3SV which has been designed using simulators
with optimal diameter and length, will be driven into the well. It is suggested to set tubing
depth at 2200m ±200m (4 ½ inch). It should be noted that, the mentioned values are just
used as guidance and the basis for the Extra work and reduction of work is ±200m. SPM
should be considered as previous table. It should be noted that, the mentioned values are
just used as guidance.
3. Standard wellhead are to be installed and tested.
4. While recording the flow data, the well should be flowed by nitrogen.
At the time of drainage of the drilling fluid, the well will be flowed through the injection
of nitrogen at 3 gallons per minute on a ½” choke, and after that, the oil will be flowed
using a 3/8” choke into the production unit, while checking and recording the flow data.
If the well does not flow, the wells should first be acidized and the well will be flowed
again with appropriate choke.
Acid and suitable additives should be selected according to the rock and fluid properties
of the reservoir.
It is worth mentioning that in order to prevent the lost circulation and damage of the
reservoir rock during the drilling phase in the Asmari reservoir, as well as during the
completion of the well, the appropriate mud, along with the reservoir-compatible additives,
should be used in such a way as the rate of “Return permeability” is at least 95%.
When choosing drilling fluid additives to prevent lost circulation, tests for its compatibility
with the reservoir rock and its results should be sent to this department.
Depending on drilling conditions and pressure of reservoir, flowing the well by diesel first and
then nitrogen will be considered.

[1.6.6] Cementing
Cement program must be approved by COMPANY and supervision of all cementing
operations shall be carried out in accordance with the instructions in attachment#18.
A slurry structure consists of: low density and conventional density, to ensure a reasonable
hydrostatic pressure to avoid lost circulation and to balance the formation pressure.
Design higher weight cement slurry with salt resisting system and suitable slurry structure,
to ensure a reasonable hydrostatic pressure insuring the over-balance pressure on bottom
hole without lost circulation to achieve a good cement isolation across the high pressure salt
zone.
Light weight cement (Lead slurry) is recommended with liquid sodium silicate and sphere lite
as extender. Light weight cement (Lead slurry) should be designed with any lightweight
materials if "necessary and Company has requested and approved it".
Stab-in cementing method is to be used for surface casing.
Two-stage cementing may be applied to long cover interval cementing if evidence shows
that the formation strength is not enough for the cementing operation.
To remove the residual mud in the hole, the water base spacer and pre-flushes should be
pumped ahead of slurry, and a good compatibility should be kept between spacer, flushes
and slurry.
Water base pre-flush and weighed spacer should be designed 0.2 g/cm3 above mud weight
if no lost circulation, total volume should not be less than 400-meter annulus length for big
size casing, and 350meter length for small size casing.
Page | 154
NISOC Drilling Tender -Scope of Work
As static temperatures at bottom of hole exceed 230℉ (110℃), 35% of silica flour should be
used in cementing composition to maintain low permeability and help preventing loss of
compressive strength of cement sheath.
Cement slurries of high density are required for ultra-high pressure wells. Heavy weight
materials such as hematite and micro max should be prepared for increasing cement slurry
density.
Preventing H2S/CO2 corrosion and/or gas migration have to be considered in cementing
slurry design if required.
Cement additives for improving elastic properties of cement rock can be used for cementing
the hole with slim annulus clearance.
Rotating Liner hanger with integral top packer and rotating spiral centralizers shall be used.
The pilot lab tests should be conducted with site samples of cement, water and additives.
The test shall be performed by actual premixed fluid at Location prior to each cement job if
necessary.
Compatibility tests should be done among cement slurry, mud and spacer prior to each job
with different mixing ratios.
Keep same annulus velocity for circulation and displacement flow rate, for 7” liner. The
recommend flow rate is 250gpm or as per simulations for each individual section.
Sufficient casing centralizers should be used for the critical casing section to maintain a
minimum of 70% standoff of the casing string. Casing centralizer placement should be
designed by simulator of engineering software based on caliper log and centralizer
characteristics.
After cementing, close the ram BOP and apply back pressure during WOC.
Top-fill job is required if cement does not return to surface.
The cementing operation with high risk may be required to be conducted only at day time.
All other cementing operations will be conducted continuously without WORK suspension.
REAL TIME DATA Acquisition, shall be carried out during the operation.
Data Acquisition system and the related report shall be submitted immediately after the job,
otherwise 10% of total operation cost will be deducted.
Packaging and handling shall be carried out in accordance with API standards.
All cementing material deliveries to the rig site, shall be supported by a document showing
the quality control of the product ascertained by API certificate of the manufacturer not
older than one year.
If any cement material which is kept on rig site, shows non-effective or non-operative result
after using in cement slurry, the zero charge will be considered for that material. Also if any
of the cement additive material have bad effect on cement job result, the total amount of
the related invoice will be made zero.
All testing tools should have an inspection report, certificate and calibration. Cement
materials should have manufacturer label and manifest showing specification, year
produced, etc. prior to rig deployment.
Material safety data sheet (MSDS) of all supplied chemicals should be provided at rig site.
All products supplied or used shall comply with Approved vendor list and the relevant API
specifications and/or quality specifications and/or specifications, mutually accepted.
All cement units shall be equipped with Surge tank (steady flow bin) to ensure pumping
homogeneous slurry density.

survey at interval of 100m; run multi-shot survey each 300m from surface to kick off
point. If necessary, survey shall be run more frequently.
Run build up BHA (Motor + MWD) whenever collision risk increases to build up a little
inclination (2~4°) and bottom hole departure to avoid collision at vertical section if
necessary.
If magnetic interference exists, gyroscopic inclinometer shall be used in order to avoid
collision.
Amend the planned profile according to the data obtained by electronic multi-shot or
single-shot survey in vertical hole, and locate the kick off point.
MWD/GR will be used in directional drilling to ensure that the actual well path will
coincide with the planned well trajectory to the extent that it shall not pass through the
boundaries of the corridor that surrounds the planned hole trajectory in case a corridor
has been specified.
The downhole motor and MWD shall be used in vertical hole section if necessary.
Monitor and analyze the build-up ability of the BHA used in directional/horizontal
section. Due to the lagged survey data measured by MWD, inclination, azimuth and the
buildup rate should be predicted based on the instant survey at all times. If necessary,
more surveys should be taken so as to adjust drilling parameters and BHA, control the
well trajectory strictly within the specified target tolerance.
In buildup section, to avoid pipe-stuck, BHA should be designed in such a way to minimize
sliding mode time, especially in clay formations. To reduce torque in rotating mode and
consequently reduce sliding mode time, use stabilizer with short gauge and profile.
Using circulating sub above MWD is recommended due to sever loss in this area.
Adjust the drilling method according to the well survey data, and control the change
amplitude of inclination and azimuth to ensure the smoothness of the well trajectory.
In this section, the torque and drag are relatively higher, torque and drag analysis for
each BHA run should be performed, and torque and drag reduction measures (for
example simplifying the BHA or running cuttings bed impeller) are recommended.

The derrick substructure clear height (rotary table to ground level) needs to be enough for
fitting in the above BOP configuration (including a tubing head and a bell nipple). According
to the calculation of height of BOP stack, the substructure clear height is at least 9 m.
In drilling 6-1/8" hole or using 3-1/2" drill pipe for the cleanup run (including drill 7" shoe
track), the taper drilling string (5" DP + 3-1/2" DP) is to be run, therefore a pair of variable
pipe rams must be installed in the lower single ram preventer. The defective installing
variable ram in single ram preventer is that the ram may be damaged and the string fall in
bottom of hole due to the ram hanging up too much weight when the drill pipe is cut. If the
pipe ram be installed in the lower single ram preventer and the variable ram be installed in
the upper double ram preventer, it would be very dangerous due to the variable ram failure
in frequently using.
Four-way solid block could be used for turning of chock and kill lines. The blind flange
against flow direction on the block and choke manifold shall be filled with anti-erosion
cushion as lead.90 deg turn anti-erosion blocks and bent pipes should be available in
sufficient quantity to WORK.
Flexible hoses that are used within the well control system, either as choke and kill lines or
control lines shall be designed for the specific purpose and installation. General guidance for
flexible hoses is given in API 16C, 16D, 17B, and RP 2Q.
Suitable safety valve with appropriate connections of crossover subs (4-1/2” IF, 3-1/2” IF) to
fit all drill pipe and BHA connections must be on the rig floor, in the ‘open’ position ready for
use with proper fittings and handling devices. The closing / opening wrench must be readily
available for immediate use.
CONTRACTOR shall submit the current well control procedures manual of CONTRACTOR to
COMPANY for review and approval by COMPANY. Valid IWCF Well Control Certificates (or
IADC equivalent) must be held by all tool pushers, Drillers (optional) at Drilling Supervisor
level and Drillers and Assistant Drillers at Driller level, as further specified in CONTRACTOR
Personnel HSE Requirements.
Gate Valves shall be installed on both sides of the last spool (THS) during drilling the well.
There should be a wide-bore gas vent line from the “poor-boy” degasser; the line and line
outlet must be securely anchored, the line outlet must be at a safe distance from the well
cellar, rig floor, choke manifold, and mud logging unit.
Page | 166
NISOC Drilling Tender -Scope of Work
II. Installation Requirements of Choke Lines and Kill Lines, and Relief Lines:
a. Beside the drilling spool, one manual and one HCR gate valves on the side of chock
manifold and two manual gate valves on the side of kill manifold shall be installed,
and the manual gate valve close to the spool, shall be always open.
b. The high pressure co-flex hose shall be installed as straight as possible and fixed by
anchor after installation.
c. Relief lines (burning line and bleed line):
No field welding is permitted on relief lines and the connecting style of relief
lines must be flanged.
The arrangement of relief lines shall take into consideration: wind directions,
dwellings, roads, oil tank areas, power lines and other facilities.
While the two lines go in the same trend, the distance between the lines shall
be at least 0.3m, and the two lines shall be fixed independently.
The outlets of bleed line connected to choke manifold, shall be in a safe area
which is at least 300m away. The bleed line on the kill manifold side
connecting with drilling spool shall be prepared and connected when
necessary (about 70m from the wellhead).
At every 10m~15m, turning points, and outlets, the lines shall be supported
and fixed by cement foundations with anchor bolts or ground anchors.
Hanging portions shall be supported firmly. If crossing the stumbling blocks
(such as brooks or ponds) is needed, metal bridging supports are necessary.
Pre-buried anchor bolts for cement foundations shall not be less than 20mm
or 3/4" in diameter, and greater than 0.5m in length.
III. Pressure Test Value and Requirements:
[a.] A pressure test is acceptable if there is no visual leakage and pressure drop is less than
5% within 15 minutes. A pressure shall be conducted and is considered successful
where there is no pressure decline in 5 minutes for alow pressure test and a minimum
of 10 minutes for a high pressure test.
a.[b.] Prior to each high pressure test, a low pressure test with 200-300 psi shall be carried
out to verify sealing capability at the circumstance of low pressure and avoid washing
out sealing elements.
b.[c.] High pressure test should be to the rated working pressure of ram preventers or the
rated working pressure of the wellhead, whichever is the lowestto the rating required
in DRILLING ROGRAM. Variable bore rams should be initially pressure tested on the
largest and smallest OD pipe sizes that may be used during the OPERATION. Annular
preventers, with a joint of drill pipe installed, should be tested to 70% of their working
pressure. The high test for Kelly cocks, kill lines and choke lines should be to their rated
working pressures, each part in the choke manifold is tested to its rated working
pressures respectively, the relief lines are to be pressure tested to not less than
1,450psi (10Mpa).
c.[d.] When casing cup tester is used, the above test pressure should not exceed 80% of the
internal yield pressure (burst pressure) of the exposed casing.
d.[e.] The control system of BOP shall be pressure tested to 3,000psi (21Mpa) for its
reliability before putting into use.
Page | 167
NISOC Drilling Tender -Scope of Work
e.[f.] Except the BOP control system which is tested with hydraulic oil, other well control
equipment should be pressure tested by clear water.
IV. Testing Tools:
All required sizes of the plug type testers, and cup type testers should be available
for pressure testing purposes.
When the cup type tester(s) is used for pressure test, the connection of the cup
testers has to be checked, to ensure it will stand the load during the high
pressures test. For surface casing, the cup tester is to be set in middle of the first
casing joint at the top, so the first casing connection (between wellhead and
casing head housing) below the well head will be tested too while testing the BOP
and wellhead.
V. Pressure Test Frequency:
All ram type preventers, annular BOP, valves, choke and kill lines, choke manifold and Kelly
valves, and safety valves should be pressure tested at the following frequencies:
Prior to installation where possible.
After installation of wellhead and BOP assembly and prior to drilling.
After the disconnection or repair of any pressure containment seal in the BOP
stack, choke line, or choke manifold, but limited to the affected component.
Prior to drilling into a confirmed or suspected high pressure zone.
At any time requested by the COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE.
The BOP equipment shall be visually inspected, function tested, and
hydrostatically pressure tested during commissioning and Acceptance of Drilling
Unit prior to Commencement Date, and then upon installation on a wellhead,
prior to drilling any hole section with a potential hydrocarbon bearing reservoir,
after breaking any BOP connection (such as after installation of an additional
wellhead section after running casing), and at least every 7 days in Reservoir and
14 days in other sections while the BOP is installed on the Well.
VI. WORK Requirement of Well Control Equipment:
With shut-in casing pressure lower than 1,000psi, while snubbing with annular
preventer, drill tools shall have 18-deg shoulder tool joints, and the snubbing
velocity shall not be greater than 0.2m/s.
After shut off the annular preventer or ram preventer, with the shut-in casing
pressure not greater than 2,000psi, drill tools are allowed to pull up and down
with the velocity less than 0.2m/s, however, rotating or tool joint passing through
are forbidden.
While drilling through pay zone and thereafter, BOP function (close-open)pressure
test for the BOPs shall be performed regularlyper week.
Kill manifolds shall not be used for drilling fluid fill-in.
The maximum allowed shut-in casing pressure shall be remarkably indicated on
choke manifolds.
All gate valves of well control manifolds shall be tagged with serial numbers, and
be indicated with On/Off.
In case shear rams were used, after shearing the drill pipe with shear rams,
retrieve the upper sheared drill pipe, lower a drill pipe joint with TIW valve

installed into the hole and close pipe rams on it to prevent the possibility of shear
ram’s failure.
VII. Management of Well Control Equipment:
Well control equipment used by the drilling crew shall be managed and operated
by designated personnel with clear post responsibilities.
Well site shall have specified component storeroom and rubber element
storeroom with air conditioners respectively. The temperature of storerooms shall
meet storage requirements of components and rubber elements.

[IX.] Well Control Drills:
Drills shall be conducted only when the hole conditions and other rig activities permit. Drills
should be scheduled so that crews can practice drills while on bottom, tripping in and while
out of the hole. Each operating shift shall perform at least one BOP drill under different
situations per month.
IX.[X.] Basic Requirement of Well Control:
For 17-1/2” hole section drilling, contractor shall employ 20-1/4", 2K BOP.
For 13-5/8”10 K BOP, BOP should be schemed as follows: upper rams 5”, middle
rams are shear rams, and lower rams are variable rams (2-7/8” to 5”). For easy
connecting, armored fire-resistant 10000psi and ID 4-1/16" flexible hoses are
recommended as kill/choke lines which are connected to BOP directly.
