WRITING MY DAILY REFLECTIVE JOURNAL

My Teaching Journey for the Day 1 Date: February 26,2024

1. What preparations did you do for your class today?

Today I prepare my belongings, particularly my record book, so that I could record their
attendance. I prepare myself to be an inspired teacher and my powerpoint (PPT) so that I
can enter to class prepared and enthusiastic.

2. How did you start your lesson? How did you motivate the students?

There will be no classes today because it is English Month. My CT informed me that I will be
supporting students during the quiz bee, so I will arrive before it starts. Students ask if I will
help them, but I tell them that I will not; instead, I will support them since I know their teacher
chose them to represent their section because the teacher believes in them. Also, praying to
God is important.

3. What are the teaching strategies did you apply? Are they effective for engaging the

Students in learning?

4. Did you encounter any problem with the students? How did you handle the
students’ behavior?

5. What are the things you need to improve for the next day?

My Teaching Journey for the Day 3 Date: February 28,2024

1. What preparations did you do for your class today?

Today I prepare my belongings, including my book, which contains my lesson, as well as

myself, so that I might seem motivated as a teacher. Today I get up early and get to school
early so that I may prepare my belongings to bring inside my classroom.

2. How did you start your lesson? How did you motivate the students?

Today, I start my lesson with a prayer. Prayer is the most essential thing I do before
beginning my class because I'm assured that if you pray for your students to listen and
understand your lesson, it will come true. And it is greatly helpful to me as a teacher. The
second thing I do is encouraged them, ask if their day is going well, and give them some
encouraging words.

3. What are the teaching strategies did you apply? Are they effective for engaging the

Students in learning? Yes, one of my first strategies for teaching as a teacher was to
motivate students. This is an excellent technique to inspire students by delivering wisdom
words or connecting them to topics they will comprehend as they get older. And this is an
excellent strategy for getting students to interact and listen in my sessions.

4. Did you encounter any problem with the students? How did you handle the
students’ behavior?

Some students are not interested in stories, so I ask them to read a chapter and explain what
they understand.

5. What are the things you need to improve for the next day?

Nothing

My Teaching Journey for the Day 4 Date: February 29,2024

1. What preparations did you do for your class today?

Today is another day of preparing things for the class and myself, as well as learning more
about my topic. I arrange my topic to be more interesting to students so that they would listen
and engage in my lecture.

2. How did you start your lesson? How did you motivate the students?
I motivate my students by encouraging them to pay attention since there will be an
activity following the discussion. And students will listen to every detail that I say "take
note," and they will also take note of any important words I mention. So, following that
discussion, I'll have an activity, and I can tell that my students are already prepared.
Because they listen.

3. What are the teaching strategies did you apply? Are they effective for engaging
the Students in learning?

Yes. The teaching strategy that I employ is critical thinking about "talasalitaan"; they will
think about the meaning of those terms based on what I lectured, so if they listen to those
important details that I pointed out earlier that they should "take note" of, they will be able
to answer the task.

4. Did you encounter any problem with the students? How did you handle the
students’ behavior?

None so far

5. What are the things you need to improve for the next day?

To remember their names so that when I assign them again, I already know who they are.

My Weekly Reflection Week 07: Feb. 26 – March 01, 2024
Notes for the Week:

English Month is a special day, and today's classes will be postponed. The teacher will be
supporting students during the quiz bee, arriving before it begins. Students ask if they will
help, but the teacher assures them that they will support them because their teacher believes
in them. Prayer is an essential part of the lesson, as it helps students listen and understand
the lesson. The teacher also encourages students by asking if their day is going well and
providing encouraging words. They are motivated to pay attention, as there will be an activity
following the discussion. Students listen to every detail and take note of important words,
indicating that they are already prepared for the activity.

My Goal for this Week

Aim to be the best teacher you can be. Keep up with fresh research and innovative ideas.

1. What worked really well this week?

to effectively communicate and interact with my students

2. What could have gone better/more effective? What was missing or needed?

None

3. What is my verse for the week that will motivate me to reach my goal?

Psalm 31:24 - Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
