Objectives
1. Students will be able to learn and understand the various complexities associated with the
development and management of the software project.
2. Students will be able to learn to work independently and as a team thereby developing team spirit,
confidence and capability to manage highly scalable projects, and identify the user requirements
or user stories for customer satisfaction.
3. Students will be able to learn to develop a simple, user – friendly and effective project.
4. Students will be able to identify the stakeholders (if any) associated with their project.
5. Students will be able to understand how the development and management of the project directly
or indirectly impacts the team.
6. Students will be able to identify Return on Investment (ROI)
7. Students will be able to manage and associate projects and build prototype models.
8. Students will be able to perform project cost estimation.
School of Computer Science Engineering and Technology
Questions:
1. To estimate the preliminary size and cost of the project and the product using Lines of Code
(LOC) and Function Point (FP) and identify its requirements and scope.
2. Function Point Analysis and computation of function point using User Interactive
functionalities and standard weight vectors i.e. low, average and high.
3. Identification of measurement parameters from the user interactive functionality associated
with the growth and development of the project namely user inputs, user outputs, user
interfaces, internal logical files and external interface files.
4. To compute count-total or Unadjusted Functional Point (UFP) using Complexity Adjustment
Factors (CAF) and then compute Value Adjustment Factor (VAF) i.e. ∑ fi using scale of
complexity in the range of 0 to 4.
5. To compute, identify and analyze the cost, effort, function size, productivity, development,
documentation and errors for the given project.
6. To analyse and develop Data Flow Diagram for the identification and analysis of various
functionalities and modalities necessary for a successful project development and
management.
7. To perform project cost estimation using 3 different types of COCOMO Models and using 3
development function– ORGANIC, SEMI-DETACHED and EMBEDDED associated with
each of the COCOMO models for computation and analysis of cost, productivity, effort, staff
size and development time for the project.
