Understanding the Two Nation Theory

The Two Nation Theory proposed that Hindus and Muslims in British India constituted two distinct nations based on cultural, political, religious, economic and social differences. It argued that Muslims believed in Islam and a cohesive approach to life while Hindus believed in Hinduism and a caste system. Key Muslim leaders like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Allama Iqbal, and Quaid-e-Azam supported the theory and the idea of a separate Muslim homeland to preserve Muslim identity and political power.
