hi friends today we're going to talk about a really important topic gender
equality and empowering women and
girls

let's get to it

gender equality is when everyone has the

same opportunities rights and privileges

no matter what their gender is

it's when everyone is treated with

respect in all aspects of their lives

whatever their gender is

the situations women have lived through

throughout history have made the fight

for gender equality about women having

the same rights as men

let's look at some examples why


only 13 percent of private land in the

world is owned by women

more than 750 million girls get married

before they're adults

women still earn less money than men for

the same jobs

and have less access to education

for these reasons and many more gender

equality is a top priority as a

sustainable development goal for the

United Nations

but it's also one of the main


ingredients for building a peaceful and

sustainable world

although much progress has been made

women and girls around the world still

do not have access to the same

opportunities as men

to put an end to this problem it's

important to change certain laws rethink

certain customs and promote policies

that will stop Injustice against all

women and girls around the world

and what can we do to achieve greater

equality many things

for example we can start by


understanding that we are different but

also equal

what does that mean

that we all have different likes and

personalities but that doesn't make us

better or worse than others we're all

people

for this reason it's important to

respect each other and be kind to others

we must respect everyone's likes and

dislikes and know that no sport clothing

toy or color is only for girls or only

for boys

did you know that there are thousands of


women who have done great things

we can learn a lot from the lives and

work of women scientists artists and

athletes

and we can also learn a lot from the

women in our lives our mothers

grandmothers sisters teachers and

friends have many experiences and things

to share listen to them

achieving gender equality requires an

effort from local National and

international authorities

and from all of us as a global community
