Title: A Qualitative Description of Filipino Junior High School Students' National Pride
Population: 20 selected Filipino Junior high school students (Student government, arts, literature, sports,
technological and scientific achievements, entrepreneurship and volunteering – Based on the ten domain-
specific national pride of the international social survey Program [ISSP]) among the 20 participants there
were some members and officer of the Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP), Citizen Army Training (CAT),
Student publication and school-based organization.
Objective: The main purpose of the study is to describe the national pride of Filipino JHS students.
Important results: The study finding suggest that national pride of Filipino JHS students is facilitated by
their access to information and inhibited by personal, socio-economic, and socio-political issues. It was
also learned that the sources of national pride among students reflect Filipino Identity and achievements
Moreover, the national pride experiences of students depict a positive and engaging experience with
social, cultural, and civic dimensions.

Tittle: National Pride of the Filipino Youth
Population: 400 Filipino youth (aged 15-29)
The analysis began with descriptive statistics of the respondents’ socio-demographic characteristics and
national pride on domain-specific aspects (Science and Technological achievements, achievements in Arts
and Literature, achievements in Sports, Economy and Social Security, Fair and Equal Treatment of All
Groups in the Society, Politics and Democracy, Armed Forces, History, and Environment.).
Objective:
1. To describe the socio-demographic characteristics of the Filipino youth in the National Capital Region.
2. To know the Level of General National Pride of the Filipino Youth.
3. To measure the level of National Pride of the Filipino Youth in the domain-specific aspects
4. To determine the difference between the level of national pride in domain-specific aspects of the
Respondents among their socio-demographic
Important results: The results indicate that the educational attainment of the respondents has no
significant relationship between their levels of national pride in specific aspects. However, it is noticeable
that the aspect “Fair and Equal Treatment in All Groups of the Society” got a P-value of 0.013 (lesser than
the level of significance, which is 0.05). Therefore the respondents with highest educational attainment of
elementary level has the highest national pride regarding fair and equal treatment in all the groups of the
society. Also, the respondents with the highest educational attainment of technical/vocational got the
lowest level of pride in fair and equal treatment.

Tittle: The Patriotic Attitudes of the Prospective Teachers
Population: The study group of the research is composed of Social Studies, Turkish, Science,
Mathematics, Primary School and Preschool teachers who are studying in the 3rd and 4th grades of a state
university in the fall semester of 2019-2020 academic year.
Objectives: the aim of the study was to reveal the pre-service teachers' patriotic attitudes
Important results: As a result, according to the gender of male teachers were more patriotic than famela
students. According to the department variable, there is a difference between the department of social
studies education and preschool education in the blind patriotism and whole scale scores, in favor of
social studies education. There was no significant difference according to family income and class level.

Tittle: Patriotism and Global Citizenship as Values: A Research on Social Studies Teacher Candidates1
Population: The research study group consist of 144 Social Studies teacher candidates who are from two
different state universities, who are in their senior grade
Objectives: This research aims to put forward the notion of global citizenship and patriotism as each of
them is a value within the Social Studies course that has the mission of bringing up good citizens.
Important results: The research’s conclusion shows that the participants prefer patriotism over global
citizenship and constructive patriotism against blind patriotism.
