1.
GT cooling pump mcb trip issue, temperature going up pump starting but failing soon within
few minutes. Same issue was identified and mcb were replaced. Problem resolved. No issue
with overload, problem was with mcb. Rated current 8A, maximum rating 10A, new installed
in shutdown. New mcb is 16A.
2. UAT Cooling fan- 2,4,6 found in tripped condition. Overload setting was very low, also
contactor chattering, on inspection found the addon contactor block was broken, same
replaced and wiring tightness checked.
3. Service water pump-A all Feedback to DCS vanished, on local inspection found loose wires in
TB15-16.
4. CEP-A RTD of motor winding temperature 4&6 were defective. Used the spare terminal and
relogged and tightness checked, all rtd are working and healthy condition after that.
5. CT Basin makeup mov, Y-phase faulty. On inspection found motor Y-phase internal coil faulty.
Mov motor was replaced and system was made available for operation.
6. CT Fan-4 tripped at 13:20 hrs on unbalance, on inspection found R-phase outgoing module
was damaged. System was made available within few minutes by replacing with spare panel,
without any generation loss.
7. Compressor B current feedback to DCS value was bad, immediately checking the transducer
output. Service and spare channels were checked and resolved and handed over.
8. Guard pond#1 tripped with seal monitoring high. IR value was found very low, which
indicated water ingress, same was replaced and was heated to remove water/ moisture
ingress, and was ready to be used.
9. Compressor C overhauling under opportunity maintenance, proactively attended the faults
in cable and JB which could have lead to breakdown in later days. Moreover the sulphation
and pitting on the contactor was also replaced.
10. ECP Hot air and cold air alarm. Channel 25=39°C, Channel 26=440°C(Normally open),
Channel 27=44.5°C, Channel 28=45.9°C. It was identified that whenever the value changes to
‘open’ relay drops and alarm clears.
11. CWP#C current to dcs found bad, the transducer was replaced with new ATR. At the same
time CWP#C close coil unhealthy alarm came to DCS, circuit was checked and rectified
immediately.
12. Boiler#2 was tripped, immediate action was taken to ensure electrical auxiliary equipments
like ID & FD fans are ok, all MCC rooms were checked to find out any trippings but all were
ok.
13. Boiler #2 desuperheater inoperative. Immediate action was taken to bring in service, mov
electronic card was found to be dead, new in-house developed jb was installed and system
was revived.
14. BHP#2 discharge mov inoperative, on inspection it was found that there was no power in the
mov electronic card, indicating card failure, new in-house developed jb was installed and
system was revived.

1. GT Cooling Pump MCB Trip Issue:
o The GT cooling pump experienced repeated MCB trips due to rising
temperatures. Although the pump started, it failed within minutes. After
identifying the issue, we replaced the MCB. Notably, the problem was with
the MCB itself, not an overload. The newly installed MCB has a rating of
16A, resolving the issue.
2. UAT Cooling Fan Trips:
o Cooling fans 2, 4, and 6 in the UAT were found tripped. The overload setting
was too low, and we observed contactor chattering. Upon inspection, we
discovered a broken addon contactor block. We replaced it and ensured proper
wiring tightness.
3. Service Water Pump Feedback Loss:
o Feedback from Service Water Pump-A to the DCS vanished. Local inspection
revealed loose wires in TB15-16, which we promptly addressed.
4. CEP-A RTD Defects:
o RTDs for motor winding temperatures 4 and 6 in CEP-A were defective. We
used spare terminals, relogged, and verified tightness. All RTDs are now
functioning correctly.
5. CT Basin Makeup MOV Issue:
o The Y-phase of the CT Basin makeup MOV was faulty. Inspection revealed
an internal coil issue in the motor. We replaced the MOV motor, making the
system operational.
6. CT Fan-4 Unbalance Trip:
o CT Fan-4 tripped due to unbalance at 13:20 hrs. Inspection showed a damaged
R-phase outgoing module. We swiftly replaced it with a spare panel, avoiding
any generation loss.
7. Compressor B Current Feedback Issue:
o The current feedback from Compressor B to the DCS was unreliable. We
immediately checked the transducer output, resolved service and spare channel
issues, and handed over a stable system.
8. Guard Pond #1 Seal Monitoring Trip:
o Guard Pond #1 tripped due to high seal monitoring. We replaced the IR value,
addressing water ingress. The component was heated to remove moisture, and
it’s now ready for use.
9. Compressor C Overhauling and Preventive Maintenance:
o During Compressor C overhauling, we proactively addressed cable and JB
faults that could have led to future breakdowns. Additionally, we replaced the
contactor due to sulphation and pitting.
10. ECP Hot Air and Cold Air Alarm Issue:
o The ECP alarm triggered when Channel 25 reached 39°C, Channel 26 showed
440°C (Normally open), Channel 27 reached 44.5°C, and Channel 28 reached
45.9°C. We identified that whenever the value changes to ‘open,’ the relay
drops, clearing the alarm.
11. CWP#C Current Issue:
o The current feedback from CWP#C to the DCS was faulty. We promptly
replaced the transducer with a new ATR. Simultaneously, an unhealthy alarm
for the CWP#C close coil appeared in the DCS. We thoroughly checked and
rectified the circuit.
12. Boiler #2 Trip Investigation:
o Boiler #2 tripped, triggering immediate action. We verified the health of
electrical auxiliary equipment such as ID and FD fans. Additionally, we
inspected all MCC rooms, confirming that no other trippings occurred.
13. Boiler #2 Desuperheater Repair:
o The desuperheater in Boiler #2 malfunctioned. Swift action was taken to
restore its functionality. We identified a dead MOV electronic card and
installed a new in-house developed junction box (JB), successfully reviving
the system.
14. BHP#2 Discharge MOV Issue:
o During inspection, we discovered that the MOV electronic card for BHP#2
discharge had no power, indicating card failure. We replaced it with a new in-
house developed JB, restoring the system to operation.
