17. A trader bought 200 kg of grade I rice at Ksh 180 per kilogram, 160 kg of grade II rice at
Ksh 150 per kilogram and 140 kg of grade III rice at Ksh 100 per kilogram. He mixed
the three types of rice.
(a) Find the buying price of one kilogram of the mixture. (2 marks)
(b) He packed the mixture into 2 kg packets.
(i) If he intends to make a 15% profit find the selling price per packet.
(2 marks)
(ii) He sold 100 packets and then reduced the price by 5% in order to attract
customers. Find the new selling price per packet. (2 marks)
