The real battle began!

The last day of our first week of practice teaching was the
launching of women’s month celebration. We are able to hear a
message from the female barangay captain of Bucto. Some teachers
created hashtags which relates to the month’s celebration theme. It
was indeed a good experience.
One of the things that a teacher must be is to be versatile.
Teaching from English to Filipino subject and from grade 10 to grade
8 was a little bit difficult. It requires varied strategies that will suit their
levels. It is somehow difficult but at least I had this experience which
will give me ideas so I could teach successfully.
March 05, 2024 was the 6th death anniversary of my father.
With a heavy heart, I still push through my first demonstration. The
same day when I experienced the terrifying moment in my life as a
pre-service teacher. To make the story short, one of the students
punched his two classmates. The same student that I tried to
reprimand because of his behavior during our discussion. I was lucky
because my cooperating teacher was there, but it can’t hide the fact
that I was trembling. The day after, the same thing happened but it
was after my class hour so I was relived because they were no longer
under in my supervision when the incident happened.
Indeed, the second week of my practicum was unimaginable
yet fulfilling. I was able to control my emotion.

Move slowly and softly or you will walk right by what you’re
looking for. Just be patient. To establish authority doesn’t need to be
strict enough but winning first their hearts work better so you can
gain respect.
