Cover Letter

[January 3, 2030]

Dear [Mr. Hamilton,]

Good day!

The [National Greenleaf Society] invites you, [Montana Green Foundation], to

partner with us in our Reforestation Program for [Kelowna National Forest.] This
program aims to help replace the trees lost to the forest fires that consumed
[49,300] acres or [5%] of the forest last [December 2029]. Immediate
replacement of the trees is necessary to restore [Montana’s air quality, wildlife,
agriculture,] and [tourism, among others.]

The organization aims to plant [500,000] seedlings in the area, estimated to take
only a day to accomplish with the number of volunteers. As such, the program
needs funding amounting to [$250,000.00] to cover all expenses. We hope you
take an interest in helping us make this reforestation program a success, and
should you have any inquiries or clarifications, we are more than happy to
accommodate your questions.

Sincerely,

[Mr. Justin Flavin]

Executive Summary

[National Greenleaf Society] is a non-profit organization dedicated to the

restoration and preservation of the forests in the country. It is committed to
upholding the [Sustainable Development Goal 15], which aims to “protect, restore
and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage
forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt
biodiversity loss”. The organization currently has over [100] active members.

Problem

The forest fires in [December 2029] affected [5%] of the land area of [Kelowna
National Forest.] Wildfires greatly affect [Montana, including its tourism,
agriculture, air quality], and [wildlife.] To restore this [flora and fauna natural
habitat] and improve the air quality of Montana, it requires planting [500,000]
trees in the area affected by the forest fires.

Scope of Work

The [Kelowna National Forest Reforestation] Program is a [one-day tree-planting]

activity that will include planting [500,000] trees divided into [30-40] trees per
acre, spread [20] feet from each other, as recommended. The tree seedlings to be
planted are douglas fir, lodgepole pine, ponderosa pine, and limber pine. After
the tree-planting, the organization will continue to monitor the growth of the
seedlings via monthly visits for the first year and there will still be quarterly visits
until the trees reach ten years. Should the program succeed, the organization
expects a fully restored forest in [15] to [20] years.
