Mixed Operations

Answer the questions

(1) A car travels a distance of 1650 km when its tank is completely filled. If the capacity of the tank is 55
liters, how much distance will the car cover if its fuel tank has only 39 liters of fuel?

(2) A textbook publisher uses 1382370 pages to make 3894 textbooks for the 5 th standard. This year, he
decides to make 7653 textbooks. How many additional pages will he need?
(3) A school recently had their Silver jubilee. As part of the celebration, they decided to gift all its students
13 boxes of pens. Each box contained 24 pens, and there were 2090 students in the school. But they
found that they had only 644020 pens. How many additional pens do they need to buy so that each
student can get the specified number of gifts.
(4) Subtract the sum of 315755, 242098 and 680802 from two million ninety-three thousand three hundred
thirty.
(5) A college with 9702 students had a teacher for every 147 students last year. This year, 119 students
joined the college and 173 students left. Similarly, 10 teachers left the college, and 11 teachers joined.
What is the new ratio of the teacher to students (number of students per teacher)?
(6) You can buy 7 burgers for €82.60. How much money would you need if you wanted to buy 11 burgers?
(7) The cost of 4 erasers is € 88. What will be the cost of 10 erasers?
(8) The table below shows the number of books needed for different number of students. If each student
should get the same number of books, how many books are needed for 10 students?

(9) Out of all the adults, there are 930162 men, and 1740168 women in a town. If the total population of the
town is 4368806, find the number of children in the town.

rent will he pay for 4 months?
(11) A carpenter buys 216 meters of plywood boards to make 27 windows. How many meters of plywood
boards he will have to buy in order to make 16 windows?

(12) If 20 cans of paint are needed to paint 200 flagpoles, then how many flagpoles can be painted using 6
cans?
(13) The students in your school decided to collect old books to donate to schools in villages around the
country. During the year they collected a lot of books, and were able to donate 327 books to 226
schools each. If there are 21 students in your class and each student in your class collected 30 books,
then how many books were collected by the students of other classes?

(14) Filip is traveling in a train and the train enters a tunnel. He notices that the train, which was traveling at
the speed of 114 km per hour, crosses the tunnel in 4 minutes and 12 seconds. What is the length of
the tunnel?
