You have been mailed a copy of the church roll of men that can be nominated for the ministry

of Deacon at First Baptist Church. From this list a screening committee will select the men eligible for the position and place their names before the church for final consideration. It is important that each church member prayerfully submit their choices. Additional copies of the list may be obtained from your Sunday School class or the church office. Please nominate up to ten men. The Personnel Committee reported last Sunday morning the addition of nine people to assist their committee in the selection of a person for the position of Minister of Youth and College. Those nine are: Dusty Allen, Ginger Jones, Harold Burrell, Frances Edmunds, Richard Dykes, Charles Hall, Rhonda Walker, Stan Killough, and David Helms. Pray for Gods leadership in this search. Once an individual is selected they will go before the church for final consideration. We will recognize our Graduating Seniors this Sunday. Our High School Graduates are: Joshua Barrett, Hal Clement, Chelsea Kornsey, Ryan Harris, Sydney Harrell, Austin Sapp, Jordan Sewell, Ty Smith, Ellie Thomas, Jennifer Voyles, Tad Young, and Brittany Williams. Our College Graduates are: Janet Brock, Daniel Dunlap, Kacie Franklin, Jessica Daniel Kirkland, Kristen Kelly and Megan Smith. Our congratulations to each of these. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday. Paul There will be a church-wide mission trip coming soon. Watch for the details to follow. A Reception honoring Ken Cloud for his 50 years in the Ministry will be held at Morningside, May 21 at 2:00 PM.

SAINTS ALIVE CONCERTS The Saints Alive will meet the next two Mondays, (May 16,23) to share concerts at local Assisted Living Facilities and Nursing Homes. We will follow these concerts up with a trip to a restaurant for lunch, Dutch treat. Each choir member should receive a letter in the mail with all the details. If yours doesnt make it, please see me for another copy. HOMELAND. . . Is the title of the new patriotic musical. Choirs and singers from FBC will join other choirs from our community to share in our Third Annual Patriotic Celebration, held in the Coliseum. The date for this event is Sunday, June 26. This has been a very moving service which honors our country, current military, former military and those who have give the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Singers, please plan to join us for our rehearsals. We will rehearse the music on Wednesday nights and will promote Sunday afternoon bonus rehearsals. Watch the Builder for dates and times. We want to make this event bigger and better than ever. A special word of thanks to Jill Scott, Frances Mott and Wilma Johnson for their great work as they contacted 67 local congregations to enlist them! Art There will be a church-wide fish fry, Thursday May 26 at 5:00 PM. Sign up sheets will be in the Sunday School rooms this Sunday.

2011 VBS June 20-24 9:00 a.m. 12 noon [Link] Signup You may register your child(ren) through our new internet web-link above. This will aid our administrative VBS staff in knowing how many we will have in class sizes. There will be a special VBS teacher and leader meeting on May 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cooper House. Please make your plans to be at this meeting. Some things have changed from the previous years of VBS, so you will need to know what is going on and get the scoop on the theme for this years exciting VBS. Junction 56 Event Wednesday, May 25 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Parents will need to drop off their children by 4:00 p.m. that evening and pick them backup at 8:00 p.m. at the church. They will be traveling to Tallahassee for this special time. If you have any other questions please contact any of the Junction 56 Ministry Team. Congratulations students and teachers on surviving 180 days in school this past year. As our graduates move on to exciting, new paths in their lives, we pray they will put on the armor that God provides to face daily battles. Seniors are invited to bring their cap and gown to be recognized during the 11:00 worship Service. Vacation Bible School will be June 20-24. How is God calling you to help? Thanks Brother Paul Medley for leading our youth worship time Wednesday night. We are looking forward to hosting Mr. Eric Champion, Wednesday May 18th. He and his wife surrendered to the mission field in 2009 to work as the Assistant Field Directors of Costa Rica, and to focus on the sports ministries.
