A joke can kill a life?
Have you ever experienced body shaming? Or you have
shamed other’s bodies? I believe at least one of us has
been done that in our life. To the people who don’t
know, Body Shaming is the act of mocking other’s
physical body. It happens everywhere even in silence,
and until now it has been a common and dangerous problem.
I have been a victim of a Body-Shaming. For a long time, I’m really obsessed
with some words like “short”, “ance”, “round face”,… because it’s repeated
every day in my life. You know, those words to me are sharper than knife, but I
don’t dare to complain about it. I think it should be “overreact” to their “jokes”.
Not only me but many people in the world are the victims of Body-Shaming, and
in many cases, they decide to end up their lives. Did you ever think about how
often we are told to change our appearance? Magazines always offer
tips about how to lose weight “in 7 days” , or how to hide our
“imperfections”… without actually knowing anything about us, or our
appearance. People are intend to make themselves beautiful, keep
changing their look without realizing. They’re all afraid of Body-Shaming.
Personally, how they live, how they look, how their styles,… is their
business. They have their own way to grow up,
receiving their own upbringing from parents. They
can wear whatever they want, as long as the way
they dress doesn’t affect the customs. You don’t
have the right to judge others bodies. They’re
human like you. Every time you consider to shame
their bodies, think ‘bout yours. Are you like them?
Do you know how it hurts when hearing those bad
things? Don’t talk crap about them if you don’t
wear their shoes.
There are something I want to tell the victims of Body-Shaming: Many
people believe in you, you values is much important than your
appearance. So be confident, love yourself and become the best version
of you. That’s enough!
