He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years. Wright played a
key role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century, influencing architects
worldwide through his works and hundreds of apprentices.
Wright believed in designing in harmony with humanity and the environment, a philosophy
he called organic architecture. This philosophy was exemplified in Fallingwater (1935),
which has been called "the best all-time work of American architecture”. His philosophy of
designing is called as Organic Architecture.

Dedicated to providing better living conditions for the residents of crowded cities, Le
Corbusier was influential in urban planning, and was a founding member of the Congrès
International d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM). Le Corbusier prepared the master plan for the
city of Chandigarh in India, and contributed specific designs for several buildings there,
especially the government buildings.

He was commonly referred to as Mies, his surname. Along with Alvar Aalto, Le Corbusier,
Walter Gropius and Frank Lloyd Wright, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of modernist
architecture.
He called his buildings "skin and bones" architecture. He sought an objective approach that
would guide the creative process of architectural design, but was always concerned with
expressing the spirit of the modern era. He is often associated with his fondness for the
aphorisms "less is more" and "God is in the details".

B V Doshi is one of India's greatest architects. The first Indian to receive the prestigious
Pritzker Architecture Prize and is also a recipient of Padma Shri and Padma Bhusan.
He had worked closely with architectural legends such as Le Corbusier, Anant Raje and Louis
Kahn. He also received the famous OAL or Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France for his
exemplary works. His studio was called "Vastu-Shilpa" in Delhi and was a Brutalist and
Modernist architecture pioneer in [Link] was an important figure of south Asian
architecture. He worked with Le-Corbusier in Paris. He designed IIM Ahmedabad with Louis
Kahn. He was awarded Padma Shri.

He was an British born Indian architect. He moved to India in 1945 with a leprosy mission
and resided in Thiruvananthapuram. He was renowned for his low cost energy efficient
architecture. He used curved wall to enclosed more volume. Sloping roofs were an
important feature of his work, gables and vents were used to escape hot air. He made many
suggestions for the cost reduction including the use of rat trap bond. He liked bare brick
work instead of plastering. He was called the Gandhi Of Architecture. He has been awarded
Padma Shri, MBE, UN Roll of Honor etc.

Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid was an Iraqi-British architect, artist and designer, recognised
as a major figure in architecture of the late-20th and early-21st centuries. Hadid adopted
painting as a design tool and abstraction as an investigative principle to "reinvestigate the
aborted and untested experiments of Modernism. She was described by The Guardian as
the "Queen of the curve", who "liberated architectural geometry, unveil new fields of
building." Hadid was the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize, in
2004. She received the UK's most prestigious architectural award, the Stirling Prize, in 2010
and 2011. In 2012, she was made a Dame by Elizabeth II for services to architecture, and in
February 2016, the month preceding her death,[10] she became the first woman to be
individually awarded the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Pritzker award
The Pritzker Architecture Prize is an international architecture award presented annually "to
honor a living architect or architects whose built work demonstrates a combination of those
qualities of talent, vision and commitment, which has produced consistent and significant
contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of
architecture.” Founded in 1979 by Jay A. Pritzker and his wife Cindy, the award is funded
by the Pritzker family and sponsored by the Hyatt Foundation. It is considered to be one of
the world's premier architecture prizes, and is often referred to as the Nobel Prize
of architecture.
