PROJECT TITLE: Sustainable Native Chicken Production Livelihood training, and Improvement of
4H Club of Polangui Members

Introduction:
The 4H club of Polangui recognizes the importance of promoting sustainable agricultural
practices and improving the livelihood of the community. The native chicken industry presents an
opportunity for income generation and food security. This project aims to educate and equip our 4H club
members with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully raise native chickens for profit.

Project Overview:
The native chicken production project aims to provide an opportunity for 10 4H club members to
engage in agricultural entrepreneurship by raising native chickens. This project will not only enhance
their knowledge and skills in poultry farming but also provide them with a source of income.

Objective:
The main objective of this project is to promote sustainable native chicken production as a means
of livelihood improvement for the 4H club members in Polangui. Specifically, the project aims to:
1. Provide training and capacity-building activities to educate 4H club members about the proper
techniques in raising native chickens.
2. Assist in the establishment of small-scale native chicken farms within the community.
3. Provide support in terms of resources and inputs to jumpstart the native chicken production.

Activities:
1. Training Workshops
- Conduct seminars and workshops to educate the 4H club members about the best
practices in native chicken production, including housing, feeding, and disease management.
2. Demonstrations
- Organize hands-on demonstrations for the members to learn practical skills in native
chicken farming.
3. Starter Kit Distribution
- Provide starter kits such as native chicken breeds, feeds, and basic supplies to selected
4H club members to start their own native chicken farms.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation

- Regularly monitor the progress of the native chicken farms and provide technical
assistance and support as needed.

Expected Outcomes:
1. Increased knowledge and skills of 4H club members in native chicken production.
2. Establishment of small-scale native chicken farms within the community.

members.

Budgetary Requirements:
The budgetary requirement for 70 heads of native chicken at 500 pesos per head for 10
beneficiaries would be as follows:

Here's a project timeline for the implementation of a NATIVE CHICKEN PRODUCTION project
that includes the transition to EGG PRODUCTION:
Month 1-3:
- Conduct a feasibility study and market research to assess the demand for native chicken and
eggs in the local market, potential competitors, and the availability of resources.
- Develop a business plan and secure funding for the project.
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses for native chicken production and egg sales.

Month 4-6:
- Set up infrastructure for native chicken production, including chicken coops, feeding and
watering systems, and processing facilities.
- Acquire high-quality native chicken breeding stock from reputable suppliers.
- Implement management practices for native chicken rearing and ensure the chickens are healthy
and well-cared for.

Month 7-9:
- Monitor the growth and development of the native chickens, ensuring they are ready for egg
production.
- Begin the transition to egg production by introducing nesting boxes and facilities suitable for
egg laying.

Month 10-12:
- Train staff on proper care and management of egg-laying chickens and egg handling and
storage procedures.
- Develop marketing and sales strategies for native chicken eggs and establish sales channels and
distribution networks.

Month 13-15:
- Start selling native chicken eggs to the target market and increase production as the egg-laying
capacity of the flock grows.
- Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the egg production, making necessary
adjustments to operations.

Month 16-18:
- Expand marketing efforts and sales channels for native chicken eggs, including potential
partnerships with local markets, restaurants, and retailers.
- Evaluate customer feedback and make improvements to egg offerings as needed.

Ongoing:
- Continuously monitor egg production and sales performance, and make any necessary
adjustments to optimize operations and marketing strategies.
- Explore opportunities for further expansion, including increasing egg production capacity and
diversifying egg product lines based on market demand

Conclusion:
The 4H club of Polangui recognizes the importance of empowering the youth and promoting
sustainable agricultural practices. By investing in the education and capacity-building of our members in
native chicken production, we aim to contribute to the livelihood improvement and food security in our
community.
