Essay:
1. In your opinion, which among the values can be considered the most important? Explain.
In my own opinion Nationalism and Patriotism is the most important value highlighted by Rizal because nationalism
places a higher focus on a shared cultural past, including language and tradition, patriotism is founded on love of one's
country and places a larger emphasis on principles and beliefs. In general, nationalism as a movement strives to advance
the interests of a specific nation, particularly with the goal of establishing and preserving the nation's sovereignty over
its native territory.

2. Do you agree that Jose Rizal should be the official national hero of the Philippines? Support your answer.
Yes, I agreed that Jose Rizal would be our national hero why? Because Rizal's approaches were what
distinguished him from the competition. Nobility and Dignity He relied on the power of the pen rather than the sword.
He was able to write books and poetry that resonated deeply with Filipinos by employing this technique. He exposed the
tyranny the Filipinos were experiencing under the Spaniards without using violence. He also emphasized the value of
loving one's nation in his writings. It was a wonderful strategy that was also different. Instead of lifting his arms, he gave
the Filipino a thought. A concept cannot be slain, unlike soldiers. Jose Rizal is the Philippines' national hero for this
reason.

3. Comment on this: The field from which a national hero would spring is not limited to the field of revolution.”
There are a lot of ways and reason that on how you will become and considered to be a hero for example the person
who develops a vaccine to eradicate a crippling illness would become the nation's national hero in some other country.

4. Don’t you think that it is high time that the Philippine government decide on the recommendations of the NHC
regarding national heroes? Why or why not?
Yes, A Filipino who has received recognition as a national hero for their contribution to Philippine history is referred to
as a national hero of the Philippines. The phrase can be used to refer to any historical figure from the Philippines who is
regarded as a hero, although it is more strictly used to describe those who have been formally acknowledged as such.
The Philippine National Heroes Committee made numerous persons official recommendations for the designation in
1995, but nothing came of it. As of 2007, no one has ever received formal recognition as a national hero of the
Philippines.
