What are cleaning agents?
Answers
Cleaning agents are products used to clean different surfaces. They can be liquids, powders, or
sprays that help remove dirt, stains, and germs. Some common cleaning agents include dish soap,
bleach, vinegar, and multipurpose cleaners. Each type is designed for specific cleaning tasks.
Common types of cleaning agents include; detergents, disinfectants, degreasers, abrasive
cleaners, acids, alkaline cleaners, selecting cleaning agents

What are the types of cleaning agents?
Answers
1. Detergents:
They are water soluble cleansing agents which combines with impurities and dirt to make them
more soluble and differs from soap in not forming a scum with salt hard water.
2. Disinfectant cleaners:
They are usually bleach and alcohol solution that usually needs to settle on surfaces and objects
for a certain period of time to kill the germs.
3. Acid cleaners:
They are used to remove inorganic deposits such as scaling and has a ph ranging from 3 - 6.
4. Abrasive cleaners:
they are cleaners containing small mineral particles, which create a scouring effect that removes
dirt firmly attached to a surface.
5. Alkaline cleaners:
They are water-based detergent for deep cleaning of greasy dirt, organic residues, dark marks
oxidation, as well as to strip wax or old layers of treatments

their original containers or boldly labelled so as to be read by anyone to avoid using it wrongly
leading to accidents.
3. Correctly rotate stocks; all cleaning chemicals have a shelf life and it is important to ensure
the older products are being used first before the new products.
4. Do not store near food; it is not a good idea to keep cleaning supplies near food or in the
kitchen. Suppose anything accidentally leaks into the kitchen or worse into essential ingredients.

5. Create a cleaning supply closet; the containers shouldn't be too far from reaching out and
