Solution

The document contains four physics problems involving projectile motion, circular motion, springs, and collisions. The problems provide diagrams and ask the reader to calculate values like time of flight, normal forces, speeds, and post-collision velocities using given information like masses, initial velocities, spring constants, and coefficients of friction.

.PROBLEM 1. The snowmobile is traveling at 10

m/s when it leaves the embankment at A.
Determine the time of flight from A to B and
the range R of the trajectory (25 Points).

.PROBLEM 2. The collar of 5 kg is confined to

move along the smooth circular rod lying in
x-y plane. The attached spring has an
unstretched length of 200 mm. If at the
instant  = 30° the collar has a speed v = 2
m/s, determine the magnitudes of the
normal force of the rod on the collar and
the collar’s normal acceleration.

.PROBLEM 3. Crates A and B of mass 50 kg and 75 kg, respectively,

are released from rest. The linear elastic spring has stiffness k = 500
N/m. Neglect the mass of the pulleys and cables and neglect friction
in the pulley bearings. If k= 0.25 and the spring is initially
unstretched, determine the speed of B after A slides 4 m. (25
Points)

.PROBLEM 4. Cue balls with diameter 52.5mm and mass

m 160gr in Fig. 4 are moving to each other with constant
velocities v1 2m/s and v2 3m/s . The distance between the
center of masses of two balls is s 20 mm . If the coefficient of

collision of the system is e 0.85 , determine the velocitites of
the balls after collision. (25 Points)

SOLUTION: Geometry: Distance between the centroids of the balls,
