B. Activity
Class, before we proceed to our next topic, let’s have an
activity first. I will group you into four then each group will
be given a small white board with marker. Then you are
going to listen to an audio. You are going to guess what
particular commercial or ads you heard it. Also, I will be
showing you some pictures then you will just guess what
those pictures mean. You have to raise the whiteboard
after 5 seconds. The group who will get the highest point Yes, Ma’am!
will be declared as the winner. Are my instructions clear?
If that’s the case, let’s start our activity.
Yes, Ma’am!
(Teacher will play the audio followed by the pictures)
Did you enjoy our activity?
Very good! Yes Ma’am!
C. Analysis

earlier is an example of communication?
In what way?
So let’s define the word communication.
In the commercial it uses
Could you please read the meaning of communication? words so that the message
will pass from the speaker
going to the listener/viewer.
Communication
-defined as the exchange of information between a
sender (source) and a receiver (audience). If meaning
is not shared, communication has not taken place.
Very good!
Class, communication has two different forms.
Ma’am I notice that no words
involved.
What do you notice about the commercial and the
pictures?
(Student will read)
Yes, that’s correct. The commercial uses language. It
uses words. So this form of communication is what we call
verbal communication.
Again, let’s read the definition of verbal communication.
“Expression of information through language which is
(Student will answer
composed of words and grammar”
(Answers may vary)
How about the pictures that were shown?
Yes, those are examples of the non-verbal
communication.
Kindly read the meaning of the non-verbal communication.
-information is exchanged or communicated without
using any spoken or written word
-process of communication through sending and
receiving wordless messages
Good job!
(Deeper discussion about the verbal and non-verbal
communication will follow)
D. Abstraction
What do you think is the importance of communication?
How are you going to differentiate verbal from non-verbal
communication?
Give some examples of the verbal and non- verbal
communication.
E. Application
Class, you will be grouped into four then each group will
pick up their task to do. Two groups will be working on
about verbal communication and the other two groups will
work on the non-verbal communication.
For the verbal communication, you will be watching first a
video clip from Mr. Bean. Your task is to copy the scene
and give your own dialogue. You can add some actions so
that all group members can act. But be sure that the same
scenario will be seen.
For the non-verbal communication, we will call your task
as PICTURE PERFECT. Different issues will be given to
your group. What you need to do is to give your perfect
poses about these issues. You can use different body
languages, gestures, and etc. to show us these issues.
The two groups will perform simultaneously to make it fair.
Teacher will takes photos for easy judging.
