Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Job Purpose :

eVidyaloka is a non-profit social organization, connecting volunteers across India and the world, to
deliver remote classes to children in schools across rural India, using a remote education delivery
model, powered by technology. The purpose of this role is to establish an accountable anchor in
budget, people, culture and organization growth and delivery. The role is part of the Senior
Management Team.

Principle Accountabilities :

▪ COO is the principal driver of class delivery operations, academic and administrative head/leader of
eVidyaloka along with partner and volunteer engagement/ operations

▪ COO to understand the academic framework of different states in the country and provide/promote
academic excellence with proper scheduling and monitoring of performance vs plan

▪ COO to understand the academic objective/structure right from understanding the school curricula,
relevant assessment criteria, measure student achievements, revise teaching methodology, create
impact framework for betterment in scholastics, revise and update learning outcomes not just to
academics but the overall child development (particularly in the context of rural education scenario)

▪ COO to lead the Operations delivery team, work, engage with all stakeholders – internally and
externally to achieve maximum benefit to teaching engagement of the rural children. The Operations
team will be located across various Regions.

▪ To lead and engage/manage partners (who help eVidyaloka to implement its projects in various
villages) and volunteers (who teach and do other activities for eVidyaloka) in the context of end-to-
end operations. The engagement on partners and volunteers is critical for success of programs at
eVidyaloka

▪ Engage and participate in all planning & strategy sessions with senior management for outreach,
growth, and increased presence of eVidyaloka reach and impact

▪ To proactively plan for higher growth/impact, in all aspects of operation: delivery teams, Partner
network and support teams- The mindset for growth and quality execution are required for the role

▪ Manage existing relationships, develop, and build new relations for eVidyaloka

▪ Understand and ensure alignment of stakeholder’s views with eVidyaloka mission and delivery
commitments.

▪ Accountable for campaigns and events (eVidyaloka Day; Teachers’ Day; etc) and proactively reach
out to the present & potential sponsors/ patrons to seek out for their participation, and build a
continuous engagement to build positive traction

Qualification and Experience


Education:
Graduate/Postgraduate, preferably with management specialization and teaching experience
(preferred)

Experience: 15+ years of experience. Should include work experience in India.

Location: Bangalore

Travel : 40% of time (field , Bangalore and other engagements as applicable)
