Suitable extinguishing media
space
Dry chemical. Foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media Water. Water spray.
space

Protection of firefighters
Specific hazards arising from Contents under pressure. Pressurized container may explode when exposed to heat or
the chemical flame. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out.
space

Protective equipment for Firefighters should wear full protective clothing including self contained breathing
firefighters apparatus.
space

Hazardous combustion products May include and are not limited to: Oxides of carbon.

6. Accidental Release Measures

space

Personal precautions Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Do not touch damaged containers or
spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Keep people away from
space
and upwind of spill/leak. Keep unnecessary personnel away.
Environmental precautions Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

space

Methods for cleaning up Before attempting clean up, refer to hazard data given above. Remove sources of
ignition. Although the chance of a significant spill or leak is unlikely in aerosol
containers, in the event of such an occurrence, absorb spilled material with a
non-flammable absorbent such as sand or vermiculite.
.

7. Handling and Storage

space

Handling Ensure adequate ventilation.

DO NOT spray towards face.
Pressurised container: protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures
exceeding 50°C (120°F). Do not pierce or burn after use. Keep away from all sources of
ignition. Fires involving aerosols with flammable contents are severe and can spread
quickly. Warehouses or stores containing aerosols should therefore be separated from
other areas by a fire resistant construction. Stores should be well ventilated. The natural
ventilation in a large open warehouse building will normally be suitable.
Do not spray on a naked flame or any other incandescent material.
Use good industrial hygiene practices in handling this material.
When using do not eat or drink.
space
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
Storage DO NOT expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120°F (49°C) as the container
may burst.
Do not puncture or incinerate container.
CONTAINER MAY EXPLODE IF HEATED.
Keep away from heat, open flames or other sources of ignition.
Store in a cool place.
Keep out of reach of children.

NOTE TO PARENTS: Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling
