Narrator (Rianne): The story begins with a young man arriving at home from school,
holding his test paper.
Son (Keith): "Mom, my test results are here..."
Keith nervously handed it to his mother
Mother (Athiena): "Oh, is this all? You should've tried harder, you're never good
enough! These kind of grades won't get you in a Law School!"
Narrator (Rianne): The Mother shouts at her son; the disappointment is visible in her
voice
Son (Keith): "I'm doing my best, but you're never happy with what i do..."
Narrator (Rianne): Despite receiving a relatively high score, his mother is still not
satisfied with his grades. He feels overwhelmed and pressured by their constant
expectations, and even though he has been trying his best, his grades are always
fall short of his parent's standards.
Narrator (Rianne): This leaves him feeling frustrated and left out, as his siblings
receive more praise and recognition from their mother than he does.
Narrator (Rianne): On one such day, while feeling particularly down about himself,
walking down the hallway of the school. He's on his way to class and thinking about
recent events in his life. As he passes a few talking about Gambling.
Friend (Thania): [Speaking at the same time] "Yeah i won $500 dollars yesterday at
the casino..."
Narrator (Rianne): Keith stops in his tracks and overhears the students talking
about their gambling experiences. He tries to keep walking, but he can't help but
have eavesdropped on them.
Friend (Dhanica): "Yeah, it's such an easy money. I could be winning thousands by
the end of this semester!"
Narrator (Rianne): She says with excitement
Friend (Christhart): "Hey! you should try it too, man! It's easy; just put in a few
bucks and the profit come rolling in. I doubled my money in a week!"
Friend (Elijah): "Yeah! it's like a foolproof system, you'll make money so quick; you
won't even realize it! Just try it once, you'll see what i mean."
Narrator (Rianne): He kept on listening on the conversation and can't help but feel a
but curious. He never tried Gambling before, but these students make it sound so
easy and tempting. He starts to think about trying gambling just once.
Friend (Ryza): "Yeah, just deposit some of your cash and try it out, and see what
happens. Chances are high, you'll win big, man! Plus you won't even need to put in
much; just a few dollars is enough to get started."
Narrator (Rianne): Regardless of knowing that he should be focused on his studies,
the lure of distraction is too strong, and he agrees to join. At the bar, he meets
people who are older than him but treat him as an equal, introducing him to a world
he has never experienced before the world of Gambling.
Son (Keith): [Thinking to himself] "The odds seem to be in my favor. They make it
sound so easy to win money in gambling. And since l've never tried it before, what's
the harm in giving it a shot? Maybe I'll get lucky and win big, too."
Keith takes a deep breath and joins in on the gambling, putting some of his money
on the table.
Keith: (whispering to himself) Come on, just one more win.
Narrator :[His hands shake as he clicks the mouse to place his bet. Moments later,
the wheel slows to a stop, revealing a red number – Keith's heart sinks.]
Keith: (voice breaking) No... Not again.
[With a heavy sigh, Keith leans back in his chair, his eyes filled with regret. He
knows he's in deep, but the thrill of gambling keeps pulling him back in.]
[INT. CASINO - NIGHT]
[Cut toKeith walking into a flashy casino, the bright lights and sounds of slot
machines overwhelming his senses. He takes a seat at a poker table, joining a
group of seasoned players. The game begins, and Keith's luck seems to be turning
as he racks up small wins.]
[But as the night wears on, Keith's luck takes a sharp turn. He starts losing hand
after hand, each defeat digging him deeper into debt. Desperation sets in as he
frantically tries to recoup his losses.]
Keith: (shouting) Just one more hand! I can win it back!
[The other players exchange worried glances, but Joe ignores them, blinded by the
promise of easy money.]
[INT. KEITH'S HOUSE - LATER]
[Cut to Joe's apartment again, but this time it's in disarray. Empty bottles litter the
floor, and Keith sits slumped in his chair, staring blankly at his laptop screen.]
[His bank account is drained, his belongings pawned off to cover his debts. He's hit
rock bottom, with no way out.]
Keith: (tearfully) What have I done?
[The reality of his situation hits Keith like a ton of bricks. He's lost everything – his
money, his possessions, his dignity.]
[As the scene fades to black, viewers are left with a sobering reminder of the
destructive power of gambling addiction and the importance of seeking help before
it's too late.]
